Who's excited for this google console this afternoon? Who's excited for this google console this afternoon?
Top work whoever decided to compare it to a power glove and the Atari 2600 version of E.T.. I suspect this will be US only for the next three years and then be binned and forgotten about. I use the Nvidia shield streaming thing on my tablet/TV box. I like it. I also liked the ps now thing. psnow is too expensive - £12.99 a month. The nvdia thi g is in beta so is free. The crux will be the cost. I can see them going for the $/£/€9.99 'sweet spot'. The Nvidia one links to your steam account so the games you own in that you can play. I'm assuming this will work the same. Is there lag? Yes of course there is but I'm not enough of a pro that it matters. The downside is using a controller against folk on k/m. Sounds like a further attempt to change gaming from a series of one-off purchases into a subscription service. Not because that benefits the users or the medium, but because it increases the monetisation potential. Another example of giant corporations reengineering society not of the betterment of people, but for profit.

Question
Would you rather have a society run by giant faceless corporations for profit or a society run by Shenguin?

Shenguin said: "Sounds like a further attempt to change gaming from a series of one-off purchase" Yes it probably is. Sass is a horrible feature of modern life.

OTTM: I bought a bluetooth tracker for my dog as yesterday he caught the scent of a muntjac and disappeared for 30 minutes. Made me late for work. Which one? I use Tile for my cats.

Isn’t the NVIDIA thing streaming from your work/pron PC though? Blasting it in across the whole internet must be a whole different board game.
I wouldn’t mind paying a small fee a month if it meant I could play EVERYTHING. If they want you to subscribe and then pay more to ‘buy’ games that will be gone forever in a year or two when Google forgets about this whole endeavour, then they can politely fuck off.
I really can’t see something like Virtual fighter or Sekiro working well over an internet pipe bough. Too much latency would ruin it. Assassins creed was a sneaky choice for the beta as that controls like cold molasses on a winters day anyway.

Bastard!
I stupidly clicked that link without thinking on my work machine.
The fun police are not happy.
Edit - I wonder where it would have taken me, but can probably guess

Isn’t the NVIDIA thing streaming from your work/pron PC though? Geforce now does both. You can stream from your rig or from their service online.
