I've had the election coverage on in the background and the two main parties are STILL spinning away... "We've had a difficult night, but they've had a disastrous night." With the obvious corollary that both Tories and Socialist parties believe that the results are merely a temporary protest vote, albeit a serious one. Tommy Robinson dodnt do too well so we have that at least.
Started to watch Battlestar Galactica may have to set some time aside rather than watching it in 30 minute chunks. Seem good, however ten minutes in and i was "this is like the Geth/quarian stuff from Mass Effect".

Hello! It's been an exciting day yesterday. It all started on Saturday with the browser on my mobile phone constantly being hijacked by a phishing website after I opened up the Tapatalk app in order to get Chatterbox notifications. Maybe a coincidence, but no clearing out of data and cache, restarting the phone, removing apps was doing the trick and I was wondering whether I needed to perform a hard reboot.
All of this became irrelevant yesterday morning when I straight dropped the phone into the toilet due to what can only be described as a wardrobe malfunction. I hasten to add that the water in the bowl was as clean as it can be. Still. I think I made a sort of "eeek" sound as I watched it sink and fished it out immediately, drying it with paper towels. The various cards and paper notes in the leather case were absolutely fine (I had been very quick to retrieve it), but the phone itself (a Samsung Galaxy S 6) was dead.
After a while I plugged it in to charge and was reassured to see that it seemed to come back to life. At first the screen was understandably a bit funky, and the back button wouldn't work, but it seemed okay. I was able to watch/listen to a YouTube video on it which is what I do when doing housework. However, it then started e.g. randomly changing the volume, and in the end it became clear that the touch screen had become completely unresponsive, which means that I can't log in because I cannot operate the on-screen keyboard to type the password. Apart from being unusable, everything else is fine now.
Since my phone provider had been pestering me for years to get a new phone and since the old phone had been showing its age for a while I ordered myself a nice new shiny Samsung Galaxy S10+. Unfortunately the PS 4 deal was no longer available (maybe just as well, considering my backloggery problems). Got to wait until Wednesday for the delivery as we won't be in on Tuesday to sign for the delivery by ... Yodel. Pray for Tent Hen.
As soon as I had secured the new phone the grandchildren and their parents arrived for a visit. I turned the kitchen into a trattoria and started producing pizzas to feed the hungry mouths. After the pizza feast the children demolished a platter of cupcakes and then moved their full tummies to the other set of grandparents. Phew. Cleaned up the mess, poured myself a large beer and settled down with Mr Tent Rooster to watch the election coverage. Switched off as soon as fruitcake-in-chief Fuhrage opened his mouth to give a speech. So I missed the interview Huw Edwards conducted with a literally swivel-eyed Ann Widdecombe.
TLDR: I won't be posting regularly for a few days
