Afternoon all!I am also still somewhat alive. (I am glad amipal is also despite my comments last night).
So Saturday didn't go as planned, but the day itself was great and as a whole the experience is one I'll remember (not actually remember obviously, I was absolutely hammered).
The game was shit the penalty ruined it, but the stadium had some good atmosphere.
Sunday: I watched Jonathan creek on Netflix and slept, mostly trying to recover from the unholy bender.
I didn't vomit though, so that's something.

Jacket with cheese and beans and a sausage roll. Oh, and a king size Twix. Diet's over.

I don't see how the penalty ruined the CL final.
It was a clear (if not necessarily deliberate) handball, and the referee wasn't left with much choice. It was a tiny bit unlucky but if you are going to point like a berk in the area these things will happen.
Spurs also had virtually the full 90 minutes to respond to it. All the evidence is that the earlier you concede the easier it is to get an equaliser (or go on to be beaten heavily if you are rubbish).
I don't think the game was in any way ruined it just wasn't particularly good is all. But then most finals aren't that good.

Spurs not being good enough is not quite the same thing as a game ruined.

"Ruined" in the sense that one team had to chase, albeit with plenty of time, and the other just had to sit back without being overly defensive and not make any mistakes.
Dull either way and a result on penalties wouldn't have been unfair.*
<edit>*Following George Orwell's dictum: "would have been fair"

If the handball isn't deliberate, it's not a penalty; though it was hard for the ref to tell, and on the replay it looked like it could have been.

It was definitely a penalty. And Kane should not have started.

Have you all been raptured? About time. Fuck Mondays. It would be amusing if that the only people left after the Rapture are you and I, just imagine all the others who passed the test, naming no names, and think back, "where did we go wrong?"

I may be some time compiling it.

I had a horrible feeling about today's cricket; apparently so did the England team. "It's Monday, we feel shitty" so 'our boys' expressed themselves. By all accounts they fielded like shite and only 2.5 batsmen were present and one of those was given a life. I didn't listen or watch... I just can't bear the airy fairy Bayliss mantra which provides either extraordinary or awful performances and no damn spine . Here's one of the team last night...

The cricket was disappointing. The Trumps' visit even more so.
