I got the job I interviewed for last week! Excellent and congratulations - I hope it works out. I guess I ought to retire my Scubar the Golden avatar, a female dwarven rogue with a penchant for seduction. I am surprised and annoyed to find that I am having to make a formal complaint about podiatry whose penchant for cancellation of my four weekly visit (3rd time in last 6 visits) has reached ridiculous levels. I should add that I had to take over the coordination of these visits with the nurses because both parties are incapable of organizing the proverbial piss up in the fucking brewery. Part of this is the game played by both parties of "We come when we want to" (as though I were a hooker trying to finish off a trick)... As the podiatrists will only cut open dressings and clingfilm the resultant painful, bloody mess the nurses' visit has to take place AFTER the podiatrist's share of ritual torture. This is stressful, but experience has proven that if I don't organize it I'll never get the multiple bits of podiatric work (which the nurses won't touch) treated. On this occasion, the triple procedure was set up for tomorrow a.m. and I was ringing to ask for the podiatrist to call me when they were on their way as I have an infected ingrowing toenail for the treatment of which I will need to take morphine... I left the message and was called back at 3 pm to tell me that the podiatrist was having to cover a hospital (a challenging task...). So I have spent the last 90 minutes rearranging the nurses back to the correct day, Friday, and then initiating the complaint. I have 2 hospital visits due which are now likely to involve walking on quite extraordinarily painful feet for close to a mile ... Fuckers...

So the excitement in the cricket revolves around a streaker on the pitch.
I'll take that over a tense run race...
EDIT: It's all drifting away into a pointless no-contest match, with at least an England win and a semi-final place at the end of it
EDIT 2 : Still at least YORKS (my county of birth) beat SURREY (my county of residency) by 123 runs with 10 balls remaining.
And it's all over at Chester-le-Street with an England win

"Flattering to deceive. Building up expectations. Then crashing out in the semi-finals with a half-hearted and ultimately disappointing display which the media will describe as 'brave'." <edit>Cf. Destry

tenthenemy and other Animal Crossing aficionados... What's the sketch with visiting other towns? The child tried to and there was nowhere to go. I'm guessing local towns are WiFi other pals nearby and the far away ones are friends on the web. Am I wrong? You are right. To visit or invite friends on the web one needs to exchange friend codes as a precaution against stranger danger. Local wifi works without friend codes. I never visited or invited anyone to my town because I don't have friends ☹ and the grandchildren are still too small to play with can anyone tell me what's the point of having grandchildren? However! Over time one will unlock two features: Club Tortimer and the Dream Suite. With Club Tortimer one has the option of going to an online island resort either with friends or with randoms, while the Dream Suite allows you to visit and view other towns without actually interacting with the owners. In this mode you can do whatever you like to that town with impunity. (That is why I was telling you the name of my town, though I doubt that it is on the server any longer.) Good old thonky has extensive information on all features of AC:NL: www.thonky.com/animal-crossing-new-leaf/

I'm this close to getting Animal Crossing so Tent Hen has a friend in that universe, though it does sound a bit like a cult, whatevs.

If you do I will have a relapse. I have been clean for some time now. Although this will change once the new one comes out. I've already got a date with Dowling1981.

Cheers tenthenemyVery informative stuff. The child is *this* close to getting her house. She got told off by a mole for not saving/closing down the game properly. Thinking of hiring him for spreadsheet abusers in work. Probably some Divisioning 1 later. Had a wee go at Divisioning 2 this afternoon.

I think Jimmy Nail is the best Geordie. 'Aint no doubt.
Rocky V just about to start on telly.
My fluffer has just resigned, "got a better offer", the ungrateful shithead.
No games.

The child is *this* close to getting her house. She got told off by a mole for not saving/closing down the game properly. Ah, she already encountered Mr Resetti? I thought one had to opt in for him in New Leaf - apparently he made some "young female players" cry in previous games. He teaches a good lesson - always save your game, kids! Unless of course you don't want to because something's happened when you'd rather it didn't... He's hilarious when he gives you an earful. Respect for getting close to afford the house! It's difficult to explain how this is a game where you become the cheerful debt slave of a raccoon.
