Pardon my tiredness, but how does this work?

Looking at that Dip map is giving me flashbacks.

Games: DQB 2, now doing some landscaping on my private island. Eat your heart our, Richard Branson. Then I was sent to do some exploring and source a (live) chicken. Found the chicken and befriended it so that it would follow me around (🐓+💗=🚶‍♀️🐓). Then I was collecting scallops and didn't realise that I was whacking the trusting fowl with my weapon. Suddenly my chicken had turned into a chicken drumstick (🐓+🗡=🍗). I feel really bad about this. I will try and approach another chicken once the smell of roast bird has worn off.

TV: More Midsomer Murders. The Preferred Mammal recently read how it's based on Swedish folklore and voiced his doubts about this to me. I gently pointed out that he most likely had read a review of the horror film Midsommar. So now he wants us to go and see that. I call this real dedication and sticking power.

OTTM (category: weather): After a rainy weekend, why is the weather sunny and gorgeous on a fricking Monday?

OTTM (other): Recently I was battling a blocked kitchen sink, despite my best efforts to never flush anything away that might cause a blockage. I managed to clear it with some vigorous pumping and sucking action.* However, it prompted me to buy a new plunger (made in Germany) that promises help with all my jam problems. This is great as the strawberry jam was definitely too runny.

I also got a letter from my MP talking about how he's come round to my point of view, so that's nice. Eventually everybody does.

*Not a euphemism.

I am way too hot to talk to you. And far too busy. Every 6 months or so I forget how wearing it is playing a 24/7 game where a day is compressed into 4 hrs. so you have to check in every 2 or so hours if you want to do well. 28 hours in and I am wilting...

I am not the man I was a year ago (or think I was) when 4 nights without sleep was easy. Because of the heat, I keep dropping off. This is supremely ironic because normally I can't buy 5 minutes of kip *sigh*. It would help if I was doing badly, but I am streaking ahead. This I suspect is more down to them having a life... and 6-8 hours of peaceful slumber.

The other players treat me like a pariah...

I would pay good money* to play a version where there were just five or six of us fighting on the island. Lots of running, searching and hiding, followed by one long gun battle in which we stood in a circle and shot at each other incompetently (in between accidentally bringing the map up instead of shooting) with the winner likely to be whoever turned up last, even if they'd lost most of their health in the storm.

*I absolutely would not.

A nil-nil draw in Fortnite. That's the dream.

I think the exemption from that sort of thing is for people who aren't in Scotland.

I had a scally sat next to me on the train who was talking to his mate on the phone who had just been arrested for possession with intent to supply with 7g of weed and with having served 9 months already for dealing.

True. Actually, in the dialogue of my Dragon Quest Builders game a character jokingly mentioned semaphore and I couldn't help thinking how that probably dates the writers and how that joke is going to fly completely over younger players' heads.
