I have not much to report except that in DQB2 I'm back from my first Explorer's Shores (these are procedurally generated and much larger than I thought). I successfully completed the scavenger hunt to get unlimited wood and dry grass, but it wasn't easy as the icons on the checklist were terribly small and difficult to see. So I thought, why not look for an option to make the icons larger? Only to discover that the icons were already on the 'large' setting. Squinting at the screen it is, then.
Dealt with all the super-strong monsters and then stumbled across the randomly generated "Builderdom's Best" feature. These are apparently samples of the 100 best builders from the Japanese version that give you an extra citizen for your own island. So I recruited "Cameron" and looked at the very pretty pond surrounded by blooming cherry trees and a small slime shrine the player had created.
Then I went back home, accompanied by Cameron and a chicken.
tldr: now with chicken flavour

Anywho, I am still incredibly tired. Concerned with the boy's breathing yesterday, we dialled 111, who eventually informed us to see our GP. That was at 4:10pm. The GP was running late, so our appointment only began at 4:50pm. After ten minutes of studying the boy, she informed us that she was very worried about his breathing, and called an ambulance before I could mutter "we've got the car outside". By 5:30pm, we were on the way to the hospital (partner and boy in the ambulance, and ol' pa in the Sportage). We got home at 8am this morning. My sleep last night was conducted upright in a hospital chair, one of the comfy ones apparently. Be glad it was Summer and not a weekend; my now extensive experience leads me to believe a January weekend at 1 a.m. when the first of the drunkards who've punched each other senseless and the smell of fear and urine make A&E feel like you've been prematurely ushered into hell. It's bloody cold because the staff know that if they don't block the autoclosers on the doors, the place will become so overwhelmed with the feculent odour of ejected alcohol, curry and other strange objects that synchronized puking will break out. I jest not when I say it's no place for the ill. I do hope the origin of your lad's breathing problems are correctly identified and dealt with. |

Thanks all for your concern. It's all to do with a viral wheeze he develops when he gets a cold. Unfortunately this time he didn't actually wheeze, so we were none the wiser in terms of mitigating with existing medication which can preemptively stop the symptoms... ChumblesWe're luck - very, very lucky - to have a separate paediatric A&E down here one Brighton. Means that you completely bypass the drunks, drugged, and head-mentalist. Granted, things can still get a bit screechy/cryey in the children's department, but it's a different level. |

Since I couldn't go out without getting soaking wet I played more DQB2 this afternoon until my eyes were square (enix). Tremendous progress in my landscaping project; I was supposed to dig a simple tunnel for my river. I removed every last bit of soil so that the water is cascading down the sheer rock. It took me several in-game days to complete the task, but it looks sooo pretty...
I also bought Ys VIII at half price.
I listened to an interview with the voice actor of Claude from FE3H which only strengthened my resolve to choose the Golden Deer once I get the game. Which won't be anytime soon.
