Everybody loves A303

Morning everyone! Portsmouth is a longer drive from where I live than I had vaguely assumed it would be. The drive back is even longer, if the bastards shut sections of the A303. I think the highlight of my evening was being relatively safe in the knowledge that Faceless wasn't shouting at me. All my life from 11 yrs old, squashed in the back of Dad's horrible old Prefect; 3 blokes over 6' tall and a diminutive mum trying to keep cheerful in spite of 2 hot bored warring little bastards going down to the West country and crawling down the A303 from one of traffic jam to another - all so we could regress to primitive men and camp out in great discomfort before climbing back into that fucking car to be tortured once again on that tortuous road... I HATED IT. I still do - I am better off now in spite of all the shit I have to deal with....

I used the A303 to get back to Brum* and it was fine. No idea what Shenguin is moaning about.
Now the A34 being shut where it crosses the A303 I can get behind being angry about.
Andover is very nice late at night. No queues on the 2,500 roundabouts, but it is not really on my way home.
*Thanks Highways Agency

As for hype I am downloading age of wonders planetfall, which I fear may be like the nosedive that Civ IV took going to Civ V; the design looks similar and I believe they have probably turned a great strategy game into a mediocre bastard cross between that and lacklustre tactical rubbish ...

OH BOY. The response is OH BOY. 😔 I had a girlfriend who watched that programme religiously. I dumped her. That wasn't the sole reason, but it was on the list. you had a girlfriend, which victim was that and where did you dump her?!

Chumbles, Eurogamers review thing didn't look to upbeat. Haven't looked for any other ones yet but its not a PC exclusive so i'm not sure that bodes well.

I'll have a go at it in a few days - I've gone down the rabbit hole again, playing a quad (move every 15 minutes 24/7) NP2 game ... I'm a junkie for that... I should know better Triumph were a great studio, but Paradox's love of fiendish complex gameplay won't fit my idea of what it should be.

Is there any hype for Borderlands 3 coming out next month? There was, then I read about how shitty they were to the original claptrap actor, and some other stuff. It’s also an epic store exclusive, so ah’m oot. You are spending to much time on Reddit. If the reviews are good (like 4 stars or above good) I think I'll get. It may have cross play coming sometime after launch too.

Hello, Games: DQB2. Every minute that I don't play I resent life for getting in the way of playing DQB2. I wish I had Conchord's job with night shifts during which to play DQB2. I resent the need for sleep as I can only dream about DQB2 instead of playing it. There's a slew of games that I'm theoretically interested in coming to the Switch soon, e.g. Pillars of Eternity is going to be released tomorrow. I can't engage with any of this while I'm playing DQB2. Anyway, I'm still in the mining town of Khrumbul Dun. I love the cheerfully creepy story and the buff miners in their sex dungeon outfits and the little sound effects when they flex their muscles. And to think that I only got the game because I wanted to win a slime plushie. If you haven't heard yet, apparently Duck Tales Remastered is going to be withdrawn from digital distribution tomorrow. I guess life is like a hurricane. Luckily I have downloaded it already (wish I had physical copy, though). I think that this is giving us a glimpse of the future with Google Statistics and how you won't have to worry about backlog because your games will have been deleted anyway. And what with all those journalists being doxxed by the ESA (hopefully Keef and Keza only gave their office address) I hope that Shenguin is more careful and won't leave that spreadsheet lying around somewhere on the internet without password protection. TV: recently started watching the new series of The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan. Preferred Mammal got a serious kick out of the first episode in Zimbabwe as he remembered e.g. how his father made a detour on one of several family trips there to do some impromptu rhino watching. This resulted in the recreation of that film trope where a character fumbles with the controls of a car only to get it started at the very last moment, starring Preferred Mammal's father who was trying to get the car into gear, Preferred Mammal and his terrified mother and sister, and a charging rhino. His visit to the Great Zimbabwe ruins was what made him want to pursue a career in archaeology. I later came across a review of this episode in the Daily Mail where the writer bemoans the fact that Ranganathan is not David Attenborough. Who knew? The review then abandons its subject entirely and changes into a eulogy of David Attenborough (with picture!). The comments on this piece are largely by pensioners complaining how they, the pensioners, have to pay the BBC for content like this and that Ranganathan is only on the telly because he "ticks all of the BBC's boxes".

I am slightly miffed that Babyfark hasn't posted his lunch choices for a third day in a row on the Fire Emblem review article.
Cheese (cheddar with onions. Who wants a kiss?) sandwich and chorizo sausage, btw.
