Iceberg huntingI had never thought it was necessary to shoot an iceberg to stop it escaping. You live and learn. Before you shoot them you have to shout "Freeze!" Booooo!

Just made a nicely sized Lamb Dhansak with a kilo of leg of lamb. It will cook in the oven for three hours this afternoon before being allowed to cool. Tomorrow night I will re-heat it and scoff if it down with all the beer.

Chicken soup and cashew and cranberry bread for lunch. Cashew and cranberry bread sounds strange and interesting. Our mini Tesco down the road does it, I prefer the three cheese bread but they were out. They were also out of Dorito salsa dip, and so my lunchtime plans were blown away completely.

My lunch were a vegetable samosa, onion bhajee and veg pakora that were left over from Sainsbury's Indian snack selection. 4 stars.

To update you all on my progress in Dragon Quest Builders 2, I'm very close to completing the swanky, Las Vegas-style bar with attached pool the townspeople have asked me for. I'm just a bit disappointed by the appearance of the silver bricks which are just grey and insufficiently sparkly. Speaking of bling, I still need some gold and have just been told that I need to delve deeper into the mine. I'm a bit nervous that I might eventually come across a Balrog. After all, the Balrog has been a part of Dragon Quest games in the past I have also now invented the frying pan. This allows me to combine two ingredients, like Bunicorn steaks* and marshrooms to make a turf 'n' truff. *Bunicorns are far too cute, unlike the annoying wolves in Breath of the Wild that I used to shoot with fire arrows to turn them into seared steaks without the cooking process.

For good reason! Bunicorn steaks increase my attack power and I need all the help I can get. What's more, one combined with a bread they make a bunny burger, which fills my hunger metre by a satisfying 80%! In any case, the bunicorn started it.

I may have made a mistake. I was attracted to Felicity Cloake's How to make the perfect no-churn ice-cream Over the last couple of years I've being doing a calorie counting* diet** which has led to a 2 stone loss of weight, which is nice. Strangely this has led to eating lots of home cooked stuff and I hate to say "healthy.***" The above recipe is 4000 kcals**** for 1 litre, the equivalent Carte D'or is 1000 kcals. It better bloody well taste fantastic, that's all I can say. *websites and excel spreadsheets, loads of fun, no joke intended. **no calories were counted during holiday's, meals out and generally "fuck it days". ***Vegetables and fruit etc. etc. **** I know, why not just cals, but I suppose 4,000,000 calories is a bit off putting.

A Calorie, a kilocalorie and a kcal are the same thing. A "small calorie" (cal) is 1000th of a calorie / kilocalorie.
It's a weird measurement system. Should probably swap to joules. Also, that's the easily extractable chemical energy in a food, usually through burning it. The actual amount of energy your body manages to usefully extract will vary, by person and by foodstuff.

That you don't like smart-arse know-it-alls? As long as they know what they're talking about, no or yes, I'm not sure what the answer should be.

To clarify, smart arse "know it all's" who know what they are talking about are fine, even if they're irritating and boring.
