I watched the first episode of the new Dark Crystal. It looked great, but it was a bit boring. Much like my face. So you're not faceless, nice to know you're making yourself known at last! Or to put it another way, who are you and what have you done with Faceless!

Hello all. I thought I'd finished varnishing the desk. But then I look at it and spot tiny raised dots here and there. We go again. Gamesblog - what is this? TVblog - more Dark Crystal. And an episode of TNG with Troi's mother that wasn't terrible. Rough sand paper, followed by fine/glass paper, wipe down with a damp cloth and let it sit for half hour. It should be as smooth as a babies bum before you apply a fine layer of varnish. typically you need 2-3 light layers. then you're good to go. If you already have varnish layers give them a light key before the next layer. The thing is, despite light sandings between coats, I'm still getting bumps. I've gone nuclear. Done one final heavy coat after sanding, and any bumps seem to be in places that'll be covered by my Amigas. Out of sight, out of mind.

Dom I'd trust you more if you were Great Cthulhu. He isn't?! I'm not sure what to do with this information.* *I meant to put a tentacle joke in here, but they all seem to lead down the path to filth and smut.

Amipal - Thank you for your kind words, but ... my essence has been drained. I am worrying about lazybones. With such low essence, and a lack of a jacket potato, I feel that he's going to go all Tron on us and disappear into the machine. Fight for the users, lazybones!

The thing is, despite light sandings between coats, I'm still getting bumps. That sounds like a problem with the varnish in the tin, no doubt you are using a good brush - an old friend of mine once said varnishing is like tickling the wood with a ladies make up brush. That or the wood itself has issues?... Google/YouTube may have an answer for you, I'm off out so I will read you journey later, good luck amipal and peace.

Looking at mortgage deals as ours runs out in a few months. My head hurts.
{Edit}Scotland are playing sportsball at home. Bawz. Journey home fucked. Guys in a Scotland top/kilt arguing that they aren't going to the game and shouldn't get the train that only goes to Mount Florida. Despite having tickets to Mount Florida. All a big coincedence apparently.

amipal said "The thing is, despite light sandings between coats, I'm still doing bumps." Cocaine won't help your DIY. You'll think it looks great but won't be. Oh.

If uefa extended the euros to 54 teams, Scotland would still miss out.

I'm going to take a leaf out of Mr.Tiddles playbook here (stab in the dark) and say; that you most likely are using a light wood (teak or similar), in which case it's a young wood which probably still maintains some moisture. light brown/young wood is notorious for this and can cause no end of problems when you need to treat it. also the treatment itself before purchase can be affected by this problem. As you are past the point of no return as such and 'gone nuclear' on it there is not a lot more to be said. Q; was it stained I can't remember? edit; (heavy/dark brown woods or African iron wood have a tighter more condensed fibre).

Is that one drink or two drinks?
Stetllabru sounds like the most unpleasant drink, the kill in kill or cure. But with Big G you simply can't guarantee it isn't his idea of high end sophistication.

Yo!
Varnishblog - It is an acrylic-based varnish. What is done is done. I'm happy enough.
Dinnerblog - tofu curry and rice. It wasn't enough, so I've grabbed a pie from the Co-op. It's in the oven now.
