Crap, is it only Tuesday? I don't think I can get through the rest of the week at work. It's all just become too much.
For those of you who don't know, I work in a funeral parlour, so it's often really emotionally taxing work, but someone has to do it.
Our funeral parlour is next to a hat-making factory, where they still use traditional methods of making the hats, using mercury to treat the animal pelts, so of course a lot of the work we get is from there, following either industrial accidents or just the long-term consequences of exposure to dangerous chemicals.
It's just hatter after hatter I have to out into their coffin, and I can't take being a hatter boxer anymore.

Hullo.
I'm drinking coffee, lots of coffee, as I have to keep my fluids up and it's too early for a beer.
Watched Get Shorty last night, mildly interesting.
Games: I'm in the middle of the 2013 Italian GP, driving a Marussia on Professional level. I'm aiming for a top 20 finish.

Games. TOW. Got me good with a genuine “what in tarnation?” bit of writing. Standing there like Boss Hogg on a bad day.
No bugs, good writing, not as stressful as souls, blah de blah de blah five stars out of six and a quarter.

Morning
TOWchat! - About 6 hours in now - enjoying it immensely. Playing on 'hard' as had heard a rumour that normal was too OP, and things are nicely challenging. Have had my arse handed to me by several behemoths already. Have just made my first major betrayal of trust, and am feeling bloody guilty about it. I expected the betrayed to up arms and turn hostile but they just told me how much they would suffer now and how much more miserable their lives will be because of me. I didn't even have the heart to go a-looting among the spoils. Already considering a replay where I take their side just to balance out the karma.
OTTM - Dog is still at vets, and will have an MRI shortly. Liklihood is one of 2 outcomes... Her MUE has flared up = more chemo / drugs/ side-effects She has a spinal problem = surgery
If surgery option I'll get a consent call as they want to do it while she's still under from the MRI
Sometimes I wish RL had save points.

TOW chat!
If you’re not shooting the people you’ve just betrayed in the back of the head when they walk away, then rifling through their pockets whilst the corpse is still warm, you’re doing it wrong.
Normal is fairly easygoing as far as shooting stuff up is concerned, but I’m mostly playing it as a dastardlyness simulator. Lying is up to 55, and well over 60 with the right hat.

Daybreak salutations, 'Boxers one and all*
Ganes: Mario Maker 2. Harder than it looks. Like, much harder.
Other entertainment on screen: Been following the loadingreadyrun crew on their road trip to the gold fields of the Yukon. They've just posted the third episode. If anyone is looking for a Top Gear style road adventure with knerds instead of knobs, this is highly recommended (sample quote, apropos some stunning scenery: "The level design around here is amazing").
Here's a trailer:
OTTM: I had a dream from which I was woken up by an imaginary phone call, in which my team of intrepid adventurers and I were solving some video games type puzzle with a circle of statues that would light up. For some reason this took place inside a library, and after we were done with the questing the staff asked us politely to clean up the mess we've made. This is when I noticed that the Preferred Mammal had slopped red wine all over the carpet. The rest of the dream was spent at a department store where I was trying to locate carpet cleaner. Then the in-dream phone rang twice and I woke up.
Not sure what my subconscious is trying to tell me here.
New culinary experiences: yesterday I had a French pizza with goat cheese, spinach, red onion and chopped walnuts with honey. The base could have been a little less stodgy, but otherwise surprisingly nice. Might give you weird dreams, though.
*not you.
[Edit: bit disappointed by the "Road Quest" title, but I suppose "Death Road to Canada" was already taken.]

I was very disappointed you can't have a proper twirly 'tache. I did like the young lady being more concerned about my drinking than the fact I had just wrecked her entire planet. Even better I hadn't actually had a drink in the bar, just chatted to the landlady. Three drink minimum for her to laugh at my jokes seemed a bargain.

gongfarmer I hope the dog is ok. It's unpleasantly tactless, but I'm still going to point out that vets should always use CAT scans not MRI.

Today is my Friday, and I'm about to head off home! I like the sound of this office pod that Sheep2 has for me, we should get some face time when I'm back and really hammer out a business case.

Brighton was good. Nice place. I took things too far and ended up having a standing sleep/moment of light headedness and face planting at the 80s club. 'like a tree falling in slow motion ' is how it was described. bouncing staff helped me up and then were quite happy to help me back to the bar for a drink, 4*

TOW!
While I did consider rifling the pockets of twitching corpses as an option, I had already perused most of their stores and there wasn't much I actually wanted. This option is still open to me though. I'm now curious to see what they will do with no power. Starve? Human sacrifice and cannibalism? Beg? Hunt me down in revenge? Form an online support group and talk of nothing but food? Oh.
Sausage roll Tuna sarnies Crisps
