Posh Brummies? What kind of oxymoron would talk like that? Pretend. I said pretend. Moron, not oxymoron.

I really wish you hadn't told me that FFX* was on the Switch, I r eally don't want to do that avoid lightning thing again. *and FFX-2, I just looked it up. It is another opportunity to git gud. I got good, it took 2 hours and was 3 in the morning and I had to look up* where to find the damn weapon after that**, but don't you dare tell me to get good at the jumping away from lightning thing. *from an early "internet" access phone. **In a fucking underwater cave guarded by a big fuck off fish thing.

For those blissfully unaware; to get one part of Lulu's best weapon and you had to:
"In order to obtain the Venus Sigil you must travel to the Thunder Plains and dodge 200 lightning bolt strikes in a row".
The indication was a flash of light, then button press, you didn't know how many you had avoided until you went to check out a chest, if the VS wasn't there you had to start again.
Old Skool gaming bitches.

I concur, the debasement of great tracks to sell stuff is abysmal. Dolce & Gabbana, 'The Ecstasy of Gold'? A shocker.

I think I'm going to add FFX to the backlog. I've got VIII and IX still to start.

Evening.
An annoying day crawling about under desks running cables for computers... To discover an electrician had isolated the power supply. Had to wait for him to come back and throw two breakers on a board.
Got to listen to tunes and I was away from my desk so wasn't all bad.
Tired tonight. Might just watch the latest MrRobot.

Hiya! I'm not from Solihull btw. I was born in Solihull*, awroight**. It explains why I have occasionally been accused of having a posh accent. * Technichally. My parents opted for that over East Birmingham (Heartlands). They have since destroyed the hospital where I was born. ** We lived in Yardley at the time. Only moved towards the Royal Town once it had been formally absorbed in to the mother city when I was 2.

To ensure no one else can claim my patrilineage of course.
It's possible the NHS destroyed it. And built a new one on the same site.

Boiminghum is ok.
I went to Uni there. The Uni was great, in leafy cash rich Edgbaston, lovely stuff when in Halls. Good lecturers.
Sent out after that into selly oak, not quite so leafy. Still nice. This was early 90s though.
Selly oak is probably* a gentrified paradise of surrey students eating Lucky Charms and their parents own all the houses now. I've only been back a couple of times to Boiminghum, to meetings, usually at Brindley place.
The OVT, then a shapla balti, was one of the best things I got out of Uni. And sex. And a drinking habit. Oh.
*I have no evidence for this left wing commie propoganda that must be stopped.

Fortnite is so easy since they introduced bots. A win is no longer worth anything.

Oh. *I have no evidence for this left wing commie propoganda that must be stopped. Nothing can destroy the spirit of Selly Oak, but it has taken a battering. They built a whopping big road, now lined with new student halls, behind the sports fields, taking out a chunk of Grange Road including the old premises of the Westley Richards gun factory. The OVT is still there, but the Gun Barrels has made way for a large swimming pool (maybe not a great loss). There's a new retail park in the former wasteland behind Selly Oak triangle. After they built the PFI financed new QE hospital the site of Selly Oak Hospital has been turned into a new housing estate, but the Country Girl is still going strong although they miss the custom of the hospital staff and patients, though not as much as medical staff and patients at the new hospital miss access to a pub. Selly Oak Library is now housed in a new building and the brothels are no longer as obvious as they once were, but the student digs are still the same, i.e. badly maintained by landlords.

Fortnite is so easy since they introduced bots. A win is no longer worth anything. Honestly it felt really cheap. I was just wandering when it came up. I did nothing to deserve it. It was bizarre. I got a second as well as the win. It feels like there's only 4-5 humans in a game.

I drank in the Gun Barrels from school very occasionally. I think it is the only pub I ever got ID'd in. Fortunately I was 18 by that point.

The real tragedy is that Adam's Place where Mr Tent Rooster bought me one of my first ever fish and chips meals has been "replaced" by a fucking Domino's Pizza. Student comment: "Well, they can fuck off then."
