I liked RDR2 but didn't get very far. I may go back. I think I shaved more often in RDR2 than I have IRL since I started playing it. I have a full and lustrous beard.
Cobblers there, oddly referring to Grindr as the 'spoons app.
Is that an acceptable joke to make? It's meant to reference Grindr's location functions, and make a joke out of the idea of him hiding from Destry. It's not meant to sound homophobic, or to mock homosexuality, or to make a joke about anyone being a homosex person. There might be a secondary joke in there about spooning, but I think that's just coincidence.

Off work question - If you could go back to a souls game and finish it, which of Sekiro, Bloodborne or Dark Souls 3 would you go back to?

It would not surprise me to discover that Johnson is actually one of the Crab People (tastes like crab, looks like people).

I would replay*:
Demon's Souls Bloodborne Dark Souls Dark Souls 2 Dark Souls 3
In a heartbeat. In fact I started a new game of Dark Souls 3 last week. I have beaten the first two bosses.
Sekiro did not grab me in anything like the same way. I found it too much of a grind in the wrong sort of way. I will make time to finish it, but I do not know about platinum.
I don't think any of the souls bullies have done it to platinum. I'm not sure many have even played it. It's more Nioh- than Souls+
* replay again. Obviously I have replayed them all.

Off work question - If you could go back to a souls game and finish it, which of Sekiro, Bloodborne or Dark Souls 3 would you go back to? when you say “have to” does that mean there will be consequences? If so Bloodborne, provided I can co-op Rom with someone halfway competent, because I know I can do the rest of that, provided I have a little montage before the vicar. I’ve left my Souls3 dude cowering outside the Latria-Knockoff entrance after being beaten up by a load of deacons and haven’t even attempted seconda. Re: grindrspoons, that’s what I mean: the technology exists why not use it? Whether two consenting adults use it to meet up in a second rate pub for a reasonably priced beer or one consenting adult uses it to avoid someone he borrowed a fiver off last week is of no importance to me, provided I can avoid giving this fiver back.

I agree that Sekiro isn’t all that. Bloodborne never really grabbed me but it’s been a while so I may go back to it to remind myself why I hate it.
I’ve just remembered where I was in three and that bit can fuck off

Rom is the worst. Absolutely fucking awful. No fun whatsoever. Just a constant battle to keep the camera angle in a useful position.
Vicar whatsherface I smashed my way through no problems in my first playthrough. Went in all cocky in NG+ and got absolutely owned.

Rom is easy. Maybe the easiest boss if you are not vacuous.
Kill the spiders. Knock off 1/3 Rom's health
Kill the spiders, avoid the lightning, knock off 1/3 Rom's health
Ignore the spiders, avoid the lightning and the rolling, knock off 1/3 Rom's health.
Just keep moving, keep her in sight and run every time she rears up and crashes down.

Most annoying boss?
Ebreitas Do you fancy losing 75% of your health in one hit then being stunned so you can't avoid losing the rest. Micolash in the second area. He is very easy...., but once he starts to get you, you are pretty much dead.
Also that taunt is annoying.
I also struggle with Vicar Amelia. I d not know quite why, but I find her the hardest boss in the game. I'd rather fight Ludwig or Lawrence.

So... attack her, while dodging her attacks?

Bloodbourne.
How punishing is it compared to the other Souls?
Are you able to save on it. Ever?

Micolash was incredibly annoying. Chasing him around the place, only go get one shotted by that AoE attack.

I also hated that gang of big lads in the dlc. Not difficult as such, just fiddly.

Rom is literally impossible, I’ve made it past her, but it was literally impossible. I was stuck on that bit for months and had tens of strangers summmoned to help all get rekt.
The problem I have with Bloodborne is the bosses all have some ridiculously unfair aspect of their design. Vicar Amelia fills the screen with hair so you can’t read her attacks in advance, the other ones have moved that are impossible to dodge unless you were already spamming the dodge button like a lunatic, so that it basically comes down to luck in when you decide to start dodging like bananas.
Anyway I’ve also run up against the hardest Dark souls and Bloodborne bosses, I’ve lost them both. Time to take on the broom/game cupboard boss.

You are just shit at the game. Rom is not a hard boss if you know what you are doing.
Git Gud scrub.

It took me a gazillion goes to get past Rom, despite summoning help numerous times. I now realise it must have been faceless and dakyl. scamanderI really liked Bloodborne and I am no Souls diehard.

Grant us WALLOP! Arg KABOOOM! Best boss fight EVER. I had to watch YouTube for the dialogue as I couldn’t hear it over the sound of him repeatedly being shot at point blank range with a cannon and my idiotic giggling. I love that cannon.

One of my favourite boss fights was orphan of kos. I summoned 2 randoms. Up until that point I hadn't realised it was possible to summon more than one other person. We were all equally inept. Attacking empty space, jumping around like idiots, getting in each others way. It was majestic. Took 3 attempts, but I was almost disappointed when it was over.

So... attack her, while dodging her attacks? Yes Her attacks are pretty well telegraphed as well. She rears up and slams down. When that happens the stuff comes from the sky and you need to sprint away from where you are. Sometimes she chains 2 or 3 slams which is annoying. Once you understand what is going on and how to spot it there is no real difficulty. If you stand around idiotically waiting for someone else to help it is extremely likely you'll get killed.

I am pretty certain if I had a git gud scrub sign by the TV I could complete Sekiru without much difficulty. I need some motivation to finish it.

I finished RDR2 and havent even felt a quiver of motivation to pick it up again or play online, it really really dragged on and on and on. I only completed it out of stubbornness and the feeling of how much time I'd invested already by halfway through.
I was doing great at Sekiro till I went on holiday and left it for a while, next time I tried to play I was absolute shit. Have found a Tough guy General up in an attic in the big castle and can't (be bothered to) figure out how to kill him.
