You can run past Gwyn's mates. Alternatively lock on to them and strafe round them constantly. When they lunge it should miss you and you can hit them a couple of times. Then shield up and do it again.
In the arena on the far side there is a tree. You can bait him round the tree while standing a little way back from it. After he lunges you can get in a hit. If you are too close to the tree he may hit you with his attack. Always keep the tree between him and you. Occasionally you'll have to step back and dodge until you can get the tree back in place. The crystal halberd is good for this. Improve it to +2 or +3. You'll still need to heal a bit and he is very aggressive. Don't get greedy. If you run out of stamina he will dice you up.
After a go or two on this strategy you should be able to see how it works, if not successfully use it to kill him yet

I'd recommend light armour. I use the black leather thief's set constantly. I just feel more comfortable in it.
I always found the problem with heavy armour is you can't dodge. You still take damage from hits and take 3 times as many hits
Big shield, light armour, halberd. is very much the way forward for Dark Souls.

I've mainly used light armour throughout the game. Mixed it up a bit yesterday with Nito. Went for Havel set with the halberd and smashed him up in a matter of seconds. When I opened the door to the kiln I was such a fat bap I couldn't make it down the stairs.

I used heavy armour in Demon's Souls.
It worked ok right up until the False king (final boss fight) at which point it became clear heavy armour against him was fundamentally misconceived. That was a proper fight. He soulsucks levels from you. This means if you aren't good at the fight it gets a bit harder every time you lose to him. That is a proper harsh mechanic in a game.
I had to spend hours relevelling and getting light armour after finally admitting tanking him was just not going to happen. In about 10 fights I had lost 12 levels while never getting him below 75% health.

All that sounds like sound advice for 5 a side as well.

Hi. Ganes: Outer Worlds. Dunno, I am starting to get a bit bored. The world is not open enough for the open world aspect, and the story and gameplay are not strong enough to keep it driving forward. A strange mix of Fallout and Mass Effect. Telly: Veep. It's good. OTTM: I am back at work and it is just as bad as I remember. I am also playing 5 a side later for the first time in 5 years. I figure my ankles and knees have had a good run now, so I am at peace with their impending destruction. Im also playing 5s later, try not to warm up or stretch, thats where I mostly injure myself. Just try to maintain a steady trundle rather than running.

One small triumph today, I cooked 2 perfectly poached eggs for lunch. Never could get the hang of them before.

I have a delivery coming in the razor sharp window of 2-6pm today. Hoping the delivery person (presumably Sam Hermes Parcel Deliverer, son of Samantha UK Strand) makes it past the rain ghosts and comically poor nominative determinism.
I'll keep you updated.

An update! They are now delivering between 1pm and 5pm. By a process of elimination, the razor tightens.

Unless this is a prelude to the shocking twist that they actually tried to deliver at 1pm when I was out.

An unexpected twist, it has been delivered! To the wrong address! Nailed it.

Generic greeting.
I am confused by chess. Not the game itself, but the incomprehensible way the tourney i'm in is being staged. I played today, and until the match began I was sure it was a semi final (one of 2 obvs) I lost - fair enough. I'm out. I then find out that this match was actually the final, as me and my opponent were the only unbeaten players left in the knockout. As 'loser' though I am now scheduled to play the winner of a separate knockout tournament running in parallel by all those who got knocked out of the original tournament. If I win that match, I get to play the same guy who beat me today in 'The Final' I have no idea what happens if I win 'The Final', as have already lost to the same player in the knockouts today, and technically the combined score would be 1-1. The flowchart detailing this tourney has an extra bit bolted on after the final match with dotted lines going to places like '2nd finals game if necessary' and 'loser game 30 plays loser game 27 only if 1st loss'
There are only 16 players... how hard is it to go 16-8-4-2-champion
Losers go home! It's office politics meets polititical correctness gone mad. Brexit now etc...
OTTM - it's 'First Thursday Curry Club', so BDT will be BDF this week

I now have a second monitor hooked up at work. It's not exactly the game changer that work told me it would be. What I am supposed to do with it, have Outlook open on it? Waste of precious desk space.

I’m in Cardiff. Not as good as Prague. Last night, however, I was very drunk at a karaoke run by Pete Bennett off of Big Brother. Four stars. Pub? Pub.

Hullo.
Cold and grey outside. Cold and grey on the inside after I just discovered that someone I know is voting Tory. In a safe Labour seat. Yes, that person is old and confused, I suppose this is where most of their votes come from.
Games: Ah, escapism. Some light pokemoning. More critters caught, except for the Wimpod that was, predictably, wimping out. I should have known better. At the end I threw one of my Eevee puppy mill putputs into a surprise trade and ended up with a level 1 Wobbuffet. That means that people are breeding Wobbuffets. It takes all sorts.

Waste of precious desk space. A dedicated chat monitor makes sense to me. (In reality second monitors are for those amateurs who can't multitask 35 open tabs at a time.)
