Speaking of Doctor Who, anyone else think that the River Song arc finished ... I stopped watching after she went (you're never quite certain with all the timey-wimey stuff)?

Yet again I'm sitting in an airport.
No booze, just coffee. All the coffee.

tenthenemy Good choice; although I used to love booze, before and during long haul flights (makes me sleep through the interminable boredom*) asking to be woken 3-4 hrs before landing, so I could rehydrate. Eventually I just had a wine with the meal. Safe journeys Tenthen, you are the best of us. *I once didn't sleep and got through two Malazan books... before my eyes went I used to read one in 3-4 hrs. Over 30 long-haul flights may have something to do with the state of my lower legs. (We'll gloss over the 20 years of smoking 50 Gauloises hand-rollers a day. Gave up '06, but heredity has the biggest role to play

Train fares have gone up. My Zonecard has gone up £5.40 every 4 weeks. Currently waiting on a plumber hopefully phoning back. The toilet sounds like it's trying to fill all the time and the pipe that feeds the cistern is possibly leaking as there was some water on the floor and the pipe was/is damp. Could be worse. It's not pishing out and it's not the waste pipe *shudder*

It's not pishing out and it's not the waste pipe *shudder* Does it have a ballcock, or is it one of those new-dangled EU flush-units? The latter can get grit lodged in them that prevents the unit sealing properly post-flush. So you end up with a constant drip.

Train fares have gone up. Every year - it's the 'milk the customer system' that was designed to stop even bigger price rises. Of far more serious note is: dominiccummings.com/In one sense there is no doubt that central government has a lot of folk doing stuff that isn't creative, but the solution is not to recruit a separate organization that reports to the PM via an individual who has neither been elected nor promoted, but just gained the ear of BoJo. These separate little colonies of political cancer cells, like Cummings and Momentum are dark, dangerous and devious perversions of our political system - we have not as a nation voted to centralize the decision making of either the main parties' executives. It is a quiet coup d'etat where those with the most influence are selecting others that hold to their view. Corbin is staying on not to ensure the smooth running of the Labour party, but to ensure the radical far left's hold on his party continues. Why is it dangerous, because there are no checks and balances on these cancerous objects ...

Ah. Yeah it's a new style one. Cool. Ta. Do you have a call out rate? From East Sussex to Scotland with the new train fares? Shall we say a grand? You might be able to wipe the seal with a cloth to clear any detritus. Then it would be free.

I had a dream last night about a new Star Wars film where the main character was a dog with a lightsaber. It was fantastic. Someone get George Lucas on the blower. I remember the phrase 'pissing all over the legacy of star wars' coming up as well. Top banana.

Morning all.
Gamesblog - the farm has gone from strength to strength, so much so that we held a harvest festival in celebration. This naturally earnt the ire of a particularly disgruntled pig-demon, who decided to not only kill our pastor, but also unleash his hordes on my little community. Long story short, we killed them all to avenge the pastor. And I got a sweet windbreaker out of it.
Amigablog - I tried fitting the new SD card adapter into my tower, only to discover a paucity of suitable power cables as well as the PATA IDE cables not being long enough. So I still have no idea if it works or not. 4*

50 fags a day. Wow. Even small hand rolled that's some going. It's 50 Gauloises and whilst undoubtedly damaging, because the French government controlled the standard it was mostly 96% tobacco with v little in the way of additives. It's hellishly addictive but nowhere near as damaging as Marlborough - from wikipedia: 'Part of Marlboro's rise in market share was its ability to produce “milder, more aromatic, sweeter, and less harsh” cigarettes by adding ammonia to the tobacco. Further usage of diammonium phosphate allowed Marlboro to free base the nicotine in tobacco, allowing for a more efficient delivery. Marlboro kept this process secret for many years, as freebasing is the same process used to produce crack cocaine from normal cocaine. Some experts have called the product that Marlboro sold "crack tobacco."' I gave up in 2006... walked out of the GP's surgery after my lung capacity had tested 45%... I didn't mind dying, my mum and best friend had died in '05, wife left me that same year blah blah, desperately short of money, broken heart... but I realized I was going to die really badly. I simply never smoked another cigarette, burnt £190 or 19 x 50g sachets of the stuff. It seemed immoral to sell it to a friend. Consequently my hacking cough disappeared, 95% lung capacity. Current woes have a different source.

Hello
Last night I watched the second part of Dracula. 4 stars.
