I watched that last night. Four stars. Rambo Returns Climbing or Sly and the Tumbling Stones 4* Enjoyable rerun of Rambo with Crampons and a plot so improbable that it makes a Quantum* of Solace seem realistic ... *Don't you fucking dare, Oz

I managed four posts in four days. It's not exactly like I was entirely off-grid.
Hug?

I watched 4 films on Tuesday:
The Lincoln Lawyer (pretty crap, 4 stars) The first 2 Maze Runner films (surprisingly good, esp the second one, 4 stars) True Grit (2010 version, great, 4 stars)
I also did some pilates, read a thing, wrote a thing, and got shouted at about a thing by a dickhead at work.
Update ends, wiggle on.

Morning all.
How've you all* been?
Twelve off well spent but I've came back to the news that my time on shift has been extended by four weeks. Awesome.
Anyway, games! Just a few. WoW, of course, Motorsport Manager, as I was in the mood for a management sim and this was sitting in my library, and Rimworld, which I finally decided to purchase after realising it's probably never going to go on sale (fully expecting it to be half price next week now). Motorsport Manager was pretty good, until all my researched parts disappeared after my first year (it's basically a F1 management sim). Pretty shit having to start from scratch each year, especially considering money is constantly tight.
Rimworld is a masterpiece though. So simple yet so engrossing and infuriating in equal measures. It's a colony management sim in which you start with a number of randomly generated colonists (you can pick and choose which to take but all are randomly generated) and a few supplies. All was going well on my first try, until a couple broke up, the bloke had a mental break and, as he was my best hunter, proceeded to massacre the rest of the colony. Second try I went a bit slower with progressing, ensuring everyone was blissfully happy all the time. Unfortunately nicey nicey communities don't last long against well armed bandits. My third colony is currently going well, but with the attacks ramping up in difficulty I fear it's only a matter of time if I don't get my defenses in order.
*Obligatory 'not you'.

So Conchord’s having a breakdown? Good to know.
Games? No. Tv? An episode of Derry Girls. Sleep? Unconscious by 9.

Morning.
The company I work for outsourced a minor back office function to some outfit at a far away tax-haven, and big surprise it's gone all kinds of wrong. I have meetings today to sort it out, but I am not confident.
Thought of the day: Our we Destry's colony management sim?

I suppose Shenguin could only ever be created through random generation, nobody would ever want a character like that.

The problem is Destry has on one hand created a community where mental breaks are commonplace, but also one which would not last long against well-armed bandits. I feel at least one of these was achievable with a bit effort.

Games: A little bit of DS2 last night. I beat the scorpion woman in Shaded Woods, even though I haven't got the ring to speak to her ex yet. Didn't explore Doors of Pharos, and died a couple of times fighting the Congregationy thing in Brightstone. Dr Who: Watched the three available episodes of the new series. The dialogue and acting is mostly not unwatchably bad. The plotting is just amazing. I don't think I have ever seen something so irredeemably and inexcusably dismal. It's like they asked a five-year old on coke to describe what could happen in ten episodes of Dr Who, and then asked Felice to write a list of his favourite women from history to shoehorn in, and then did that three more times, and then made all of that into one episode.
At least the Doctor hasn't yet carried out any particularly cruel acts on enemies instead of giving them a chance for redemption.
The whole thing looks badly conceived, rushed, and a giant mess. The special effects and locations looks like they must be burning budget, but that does nothing to redeem the show, rather the opposite, as they're crammed in at the expense of any emotional nuance or power.
I want to like it. I particularly want to like this Doctor. But it's increasingly difficult. TL:DR? Dr Who is a bag of unicorn shit.

So Conchord’s having a breakdown? Good to know. Count yourself lucky I'm not a good hunter. Oh, forgot I also started and finished Blasphemy. A 2D 'Souls-like', except it must be a bit easier than others of the same genre as I managed it quite comfortably. The artist/ writer of that needs some serious therapy though. A little bit disturbing.

Shenguin I don't watch Dr Who but I watched the second series of Broadchurch, by the same chap, and it fits your description exactly. A-list cast (for British telly), but the dialogue, plot and characterisation were mind bogglingly bad. Not 'that was poorly done' bad, but 'was this written by someone who has never watched a tv programme before or actually met another human being' bad. As you can tell, I'm still pretty angry about it.

Morning all.
I am acutely tired today, for no good reason. Maybe a lack of booze? Yup, that'd do it.
Gamesblog - I've finished the mining island in DQB2, and have headed back to the Island of Awakening with a fresh band of miscreants.
Gamesblog - gave F/A-18 Interceptor a play last night. I shot down two MiG-29s in close-up dogfights, and then attempted to land my jet on the aircraft carrier from which I took-off from. I did manage to land. On the sea rather than on the deck, but I did land safely.

I don't think many members of this group would last long against one armed bandits, let alone well armed bandits.
