The neighbour's kids have put a badminton net up in the road and are playing away nicely. There's a really good sense of community spirit about the place now. Obviously I have reported them to the police.

Good morning from SECTOR MID. Another gorgeous day here, perfect for sitting in the pub garden. Or at home in front of your games console with dwindling resources. I should have bought another crate of beer. Now I have to slum it with larger bottles than usual. " You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?" Animal Crossing: After one night in a tent and several bug nets and fishing rods later I'm waking up to my new house. Crank is right, there are a lot of weeds. Or rather there were, for THEY ARE NOW WORTH MONEY! If only life would imitate the game. I'd make a killing with the contents of our garden. Selling little Timmy weed will never stop being funny (keeping a bag for crafting, though). At first I only saw tarantulas on the title screen and during a cut scene, but late last night I had my first genuine encounter and now my bank balance had a boost of 8,000 Bells. Glad to see that I haven't lost my touch; they used to come out only at night during the summer months and were always a nice little earner with a lot of legs, very hairy legs. I also watched a 35 minute YouTube video on GameXplain Jon Cartwright's channel in which he and several YouTubers were playing Animal Crossing hide and seek. It is surprising how something so simple can be so entertaining. Though I was overcome with jealousy when I heard that he had named his island Eventide. Why did I not think of this? DQB2: amipal, just wanted to say that I also worked a lot with glass and glowing blocks inside the pyramid, though in my case it was the shop and the nightclub while I used traditional mudbrick for the hotel. I could never understand architects' obsession with using a lot of glass until I played this game. It just really works for all sorts of environments.

Morning all,
Has anyone played Cities:Skylines? On sale on Steam. Never played the city building games and this appeals.

21 Mbps now. I am going crazy being stuck inside with the family all day. With a bit of luck I may be allowed to game tonight. 167mb.

Wolfy is a key worker? Christ... Not a key worker but part of an essential service. I have no option but to work. I can do it from home. If Boris mentions help for self employed my work load will lessen.

That was actually a pleasant shopping experience, queue not too long and quiet, lots of space in shop, they also had pasta, eggs and loo rolls! No rice and no skimmed milk*. On the way to Sainsbury's I went into the butchers which was empty, got some sausages**, minced beef and a rack of pork ribs, so along with the chicken breasts and pork mince I got later on all we need is the occasional vegetable and we should be set for a few weeks. I also picked up 4 tinnies and 2 huge bottles of Budweiser, which I like and drink. *I drink the proper full fat stuff, Pref.Mam. drinks skimmed which is essentially coloured water with no taste, though it can be frozen for disappointment later. **They do superb sausages and very good meat, though I once had a chicken breast that was on its way out, they also deliver: Rooks

Luckily my butcher had some silverside left. Local butchers are probably a little better stocked as the majority dont use them.

Afternoon all.
Also essential worker over here, although 'worker' is pushing it. Should I be worried that I'm in a similar bracket to Wolfy?
Also had to queue at Sainsburys, one in one out, although my shopping was much less exciting. Meal deal (chicken and stuffing sandwich) and a twix.
The countdown to FFVIIR is getting near. It's like, two weeks and 12 hours. So, at my speeds, and with Sony restricting downloads, I should be able to play it by mid June! Awesome.

Local government, trying to keep as many services as possible running.

Afternoon all.
Another non-essential still working here also. Keep hoping they will decide to tell me to stop logging in and go play in the garden, but seems i'm expected to report in each morning.
OTTM - PM's sister in law died this morning. Cancer, not Covid. PM is trying to get her bro through the shit times via phone, although he's already been told no more than 10 at the funeral. That doesn't even cover his immediate family so decisions to be made. He's trying to fast-track the funeral so as to get ahead of the rush. Strange times.
Games? No

One hour queue outside my pharmacy when I went to get my thyroxine. When quizzed by some cunt as to why I was there and replied she looked extremely sheepish (not Sheep2ish though). Fucking people.

gongfarmer What shit, sorry to hear that. Strange times indeed, having had to attend a funeral earlier this month I keep on thinking how bloody lucky we were that we weren't caught up in all of this.

I've been to Sainsbury. It was ok. Lots of food. No organic eggs so I had to get free range. No beans. I bought wine and beer. At least I can have diiner. No queue to get in Four stars would recommend.
I also did shopping for my parents so that they do not have to go.
I have been washing hands more obsessively than Pontius Pilate.

This has been all over the news already, but if you haven't seen it yet, here are some Italian mayors telling people in no uncertain terms to stay the f*ck at home. The one threatening to send police with flamethrowers to parties and the one telling someone who was disobeying the order that he isn't Will Smith in I Am Legend are already legends themselves, but my favourite is the one who orders two people to stop playing ping pong and sends them instead "alla PlayStation".

Having briefly worked in Italy they will send someone round who will break your legs. They usually wear masks anyway so no change needed.

I did wonder if I had had it.
I didn't' have a cough, but I was ill with a stomach upset and fever at the end of Feb for a few days. Bad enough on the worst night that I thought I needed to get the fever checked in case something inside had gone badly wrong. I had a load of tests at A&E that night, but they all came up ok. They did not test for Covid though so I do not know. I had it for about a week.
It is very consistent with symptoms that you can get if you do not present with a cough.
I had visited London twice the week before so it is quite possible I was in contact with it. On the tube and at football matches. So mixing with a lot of people. Mostly people from Brum, but not all. One of the people I went with also went to A&E that week, concerned about a possible heart attack. He is ok though. Which is good.
There are load of viruses that it could have been. it would be nice if I had had it and recovered. I did not infect anyone else anyway
I have a strip of hair missing from my chest where they did an ECG. It was good to see it a slow steady rhythm at 3.a.m. First thing the nurse said was that's got to come off and she fetched a razor.
It looks like Smaug with the only uncovered bit over my heart.
Anyway. My virus scored four stars. Would not really recommend.

Also I missed two Birmingham games so you can tell I really was ill. The last two they played <bursts in to tears> They may have thought I had lost interest and they no longer needed to play. I am regretting not going, though I think it was the right decision not to go, regardless of what the virus was.
I would very much like them to start playing football again.
