Good Morning Everyone! I have mostly been working, including Friday and yesterday. I have also been reading Pearls Before Swine cartoons. They're very good, thank you tenthenemy. MrTiddles because you keep asking for the photos, so I keep sending them. I have no idea why you also keep asking for photos of my clutter, bric-a-brac and assorted rubbish. |

You're not relying on windows 10 file copying are you? With that much stuff I'd be using teracopy. Yeah I've learned my turnip lessons. Putting a hit out on the young nook brothers. I've pretty much got everything I really need copied, but yeah the windows file copy failed so am not going to bother doing the entire drive - it's mainly just me being paranoid the old HDD is on its way out and there may be something I've missed. Probably not as most of my critical stuff is on my work computer and attached to old emails anyway. |

Does anyone know where the original version of Icewind Dale keeps its save files or their file extension? I've been googling it for half an hour and all I keep getting is information for the Enhanced Edition, which I don't have. Onto installing and migrating Quake 2 now I guess.
Games: No.
Films: Started Darkest Hour last night purely because Oldman is supposed to be amazing in it. Made it to just after the fictional underground scene and fell asleep. Four stars. Will resume ce soir.
Windy out today in Brummageham.

Ganes: Put some serious time into AC:NH yesterday and finally have a basement in my house as a result. My problem is that playing just one or two hours or so in the evening makes progress very slow, because you just have enough time to engage in the unbridled consumerism of the game without getting a chance of building up resources. I always only just about make it to the shops before closing time and then have bad storage management issues because I don't have enough money to expand further. But that's all been resolved (for now). Pleasing the Happy Home Academy is definitely easier than before, they sent me yet another trophy although my upper floor room looks like a dump. Does anyone know whether the HHA assessors are still frightened of basements like in previous games? It used to be the case that once you've got a basement you could cram it full of stuff without losing any standing with them. Hermes allegedly still has my grandchildren's Animal Crossing Switch. Last info was that it had been delayed on Thursday for unspecified reasons and that they "will have it on the move in the next 24 hours". Clearly they've taken the whole Bank Holiday off and who can blame them? Hopefully the thing will get delivered tomorrow before my chances of winning the 'Granny of the Year' award are impacted. |

Oh, and speaking of consumerism, I also bought Sunless Sea which has finally been released for the Switch. Long have I waited.
Speaking of survival games at sea, has anyone checked out the new Capcom game, Shinsekai? It looks very nice.

Rod Hull withdrawal has led me to drinking a very out of date lucozade I found in the fridge. Perhaps it won't be the pox that does for me, but a tainted can of 'zade. Very poetic.
We've had the TV on all day so are repeatedly treated to the soothing sounds of the (racially pure) VD-Day singers. If I see that advert again I might switch it off and hide the TV remote. Also endless adverts from companies who really care if we are ok and want to point out that we are all in this together and so that means you really ought to buy something from them.
How is Sunless Sea tent? I played it long ago on the personal computer and the writing was excellent but it was an unfinished version so it was a bit... sparse.

Shoulda coulda woulda won last game
10 kills including players 7,6,5,4,3.
I had shots at the last guy as well.
Really should have won. Unfortunately my gun needed reloading due to overuse and he shot me.

We did one of those Zoom charity quizzes last night hosted by Peter Capaldi. Struggled badly on the art and Dr Who rounds, but nailed the one where you had to complete the Malcolm Tucker quotes (if in doubt we said 'cunt', which is also one of the maxims I live by in general).

This government advice is hard to follow. Staying alert is a good strategy for fighting the virus because you need to see it coming! Just don't fire until you see the uracils of their RNA. No time for Sunless Sea yet, Animal Crossing is keeping me busy today and later on at 8 p.m. I will join the weekly social distancing live stream. Today we will be playing Shadow Warrior, the (hopefully) less racist remake. I have just learnt that in the UK the shuriken stars of the original were replaced with darts. No idea why they didn't turn the katanas into snooker cues then. |
