You will be astonished to know that I slept for 5 whole hours ... Games: I can also report that the Age of Wonders 3 PBEM server works brilliantly - 7 turns in a day, although there's very little to order. It's exciting because you can't go back to your last save; it's ironman mode; how am I doing? I haven't a clue... Diplomacy: I am waiting for Greece and Egypt to make their dying moves in that webDip game; and lest I get too cocky I continue to get crushed in my 3 vDip games ... NP2: In one galaxy I'm pinned in the centre by being the frontman vs the other major alliance. We have 5 members - 4 v strong players and the hilarious, charming Church of Cheesecake who has the heart of a lion, the sense of humour of a Python and strategic nous of a termite* * "Enemy? attack attack attack ..." die... And remember that game I was locked into my own pocket universe - the game mirroring real life; well I was able to arrange a swap of stars to give me a long route out ... I'm the white track on this chart showing star ownership over time... The blue tracks are the scumbags attacking my mates... bastards! TV: A little Justified, GBM and Britannia (S2 E1 seemed to be about who gets to piss in Aulus Plautius' pool; turns out he does). There's quite a lot of perverting the course of history, individuals, druids*, tribes. On this basis, if you're a tribal leader, run if you see a camera. *But they are already into magic mushrooms, staring at the sky, manic shagging and blood sacrifice - think Woodstock without so much blood.

Things are really getting out of hand with my Webex call, bear in mind I have never hosted one of these before. The lady who basically fobbed this is off on me but promised to co-op host may now not be around and it turns out lecture theatres are being setup in my company for employees to view this as so many want to attend.
I will Google "how to host a Webex meeting" later.

Morning Chumbles Morning Destry Morning lurkers
So Dexamethasone is the new wonder cure for those on ventilators? Sheesh. I've been mixing it in to my dogs meals for the last 2 years to keep her immune system down so she doesn't trigger her auto-immune meningitis. Guess prices will skyrocket now, and the Donald will be bulk buying it all to mix with his daily bleach fix.
Speaking of skyrockets, I've been feeling the pump to get back into the Elite universe, as 'Fleet Carriers' have been introduced..... only problem is that a base model will set me back a cool 5 BILLION credits. Having played this game since 2016, and accumulated slightly less than 1 billion in that time I can safely look forward to my first carrier in about 20 years. Pump diminishing.

Baby I'm surprised your seminar on cheque forging isn't just on the dark web. Strange times indeed.
TV. Finished Killing Eve S2.
Games. Not really. A wee mooch in GTA.
OTTM. Rescuing stuff from a database backup. I do a little work for charity sometimes but I don't like to talk about it.

Don't talk about it then.
Morning Everyone!
What do you do Crank? Librarians Anonymous?
I can either sort my life and moral purpose out, and try to be as good as Crank, or I can sneer, ok? I've made the decision to stick with sneering. It works for me.

Morning all, Age of Wonders. Never played it looks intriguing.Lots of love for III but is this because people played it at the time? How does it stand up to a noob like moi? I wuz that noob, yer honour! It's not a steep learning curve if you've played a TBS, say, Civ V. But you can 'die' pretty quickly if you take stupid risks. I'm on about 2k hours and I play it more than any other - it's much better IMHO than Planetfall. Top tip: NEVER autoresolve combat in the early game - you will bleed units and quite often a group of tier I and II units when promoted to Elite or Champion can defeat Heroes... but they can't promote there if you're giving the game the opportunity to bump them off. It's like the turn before the autosave in Civ IV trap; the AI will show you the true odds of success on the other 3 turns but turn 4 it will show you the correct odds of 98% and then wipe your stack.

Morning y'all! Gather 'round, and let me tel you a tale as old as time...
Spoke with my GP yesterday about my continued abdominal pain. And he had me go in for a physical examination.
"If you were more ill, I'd know what was wrong with you!" Says that I need to go to hospital with a letter from him to the on-call surgeon. He's spoken with the on-call surgeon, and explained that I needed a scan.
So off I toodle to the Royal Sussex, got there about 7pm, and I join the queue - they've socially distanced the entire department, so they're only letting in as many people as will fill seats (seats are taped-off at two-metre distances).
I eventually see the surgeon, who pokes and prods me, and says "I don't want to admit you, because you're young and healthy" - and there's me thinking "wouldn't it be better to do surgery on someone fit and healthy rather than someone old and falling apart?" But then I'm not a surgeon.
He prescribes antibiotics (about the size of my thumb - they ARE NOT suppositories) for ACUTE-APPENDICITIS, which I'm to take three times a day, then I'm to go back in on Thursday for a check up.
If the drugs work and the swelling/tenderness reduces, all good. Otherwise scan and possible admission.
Anyway... my impression is that they don't want to admit people if they can help it because of COVID19. Which makes sense. But it is a bit stressful to know that I have a potential grenade in my gut ready to take me out. And it's not like I can take Charlie with me.

Best arrest
A Blues fan at Molineux during a local derby (Dec 1999 I think) There were two of our fan having a row near me one season and it turned physical.
A single copper turned up to sort it.
As he got there one of the blokes full on punched the other.
Being a kind ACAB he merely said 'If you hit him again I will have to arrest you'.
Two seconds later the cuffs were out.
I suppose sometimes you just really don't want to watch Blues.
I have seen quite a few arrested at football matches (The first 3 away games I went to each featured well over 100 arrests) One po-po to each limb carrying people off is quite good.
And failed arrests.
More than once I saw a few coppers go in to the crowd at Blues to donate their tit hats for an impromptu kick around.
Followed a minute later by twenty or so more. They would then all retreat together looking somewhat shaken.
Unsurprisingly they stopped trying to arrest people on the terraces.
1980s and 1990s football was a strong education.

try to be as good as Crank, or I can sneer, ok? It's kind of what the kids call a side gig. So I'm partly being paid - but a lot less than they'd pay if they got a professional who actually knows what they're doing. And I only charge if I have to take time off work and spend half a day etc. Lots is for free due to the guilt of taking money. Not quite chugger levels. And you can talk - how's the dug and children that aren't yours?

Morning all.
Games - oh my, yes. RDR 2, did not much of note, went hunting and bagged myself two perfect buck pelts and a perfect bear pelt. Took down the bear with one sniper rifle bullet to the face. I’ve fallen back in love with this game, and don’t even want to touch the story line. Just happy having a mooch around. Going to do lots of hunting and crafting, get all my satchels upgrades so I can carry all the stuff.
Then some AC Odd, did some story missions and then dove into a volcano. It turned out that at the bottom of the volcano is a cave with two high level bad guys in. Killed one, the other got me good and proper. I’ll come back to it later.

No guns. Just some bloke on a small motorbike who stopped outside a Pharmacy to rev the nuts off it to impress his methadone mates. Cop car goes past, does a U-turn and pulls up alongside to toot him. Bloke ignores cop car, so, copper (at speed) legs it out of his car. Bloke sees this and tries to get away by riding down the pavement. Super-cop is having none of this, chases on foot and grabs hold of the rider's rucksack and pulls him off the back of the moving bike. Unmarked car turns up 30secs later and a 'pat down' revealed some items which were tested with one of those liquid bags, 'If it turns blue you're nicked'. He got nicked. Bike taken to the pound. Superb.
