Morning all,
Bought Civ VI at the weekend. Takes some getting used to, still enjoyable but as one reviewer put it "lots of unimportant decisions". The civics tree is a good example, why bother having a choice when you do all of them and aren't forced to decide which to have or not have. Instead you merely decide which first.
I've always been awful at Civ so it's not just that. Certainly a lack of elastcity as you can't sandbox as much. The AI isn't necessarily bad, it's just very random. Declarations of war are made without any reason and the continual tedious offers which make no sense. Yeah, I'll let you have open borders and a luxury resource for 1 gold per turn.
It can still be fun at points though I'm glad I didn't pay top dollar for it.

Morning.
Games - yes. AC Odyssey. Bit more story, found out where the real Minotaur lives but I’m a nervous nelly so didn’t go any further. Did do a spot of cultist hunting, and I might start hunting the mythical beasts ones, the hind and kretan bull etc. I did go and get Poseidon’s trident, so now I can cheat while diving wrecks.
It’s a great game.

Scubar,
The mythical beasts are great fun, the toughest two are the boars. The lion wasn't easy either. With most of the bosses and big nasties I try and keep close enough that they can't perform a ranged attack but not too close. It's worth wearing any specific gear you have.
The minotaur is more spooky (in the lead up to it) than tough. That said many of these fights take a while and a slight error in darting in or risking an attack can end badly.
I do love it all though. So much variety.

I picked up a bow that turns my normal arrows into poison ones, it’s come in handy a lot, especially since I realised you can use it in fights, and 3 quick arrows can take out a guy in a group and make it a bit easier. Turning on autocraft arrows was a good move too. Tempted to sack off work and go back to it.

Turning on autocraft arrows was a good move too. Tempted to sack off work and go back to it. I maxed out in poison, I prefer it to fire as there's so much flammable stuff you can easily torch yourself during a fight. This playthrough I'm on the hard level, which is most likely default for most. It does demand that you have a more suited outfit for a specific mission or task. I've stuck largely to warrior/assassin build.I read that they nerfed the bow and I find my timing isn't good enough as I end up getting tagged mid-shot by someone. The chain assassin kills are my thing. I use the bow to get some adrelanine bars back. That said there are a few bosses you can hit and run.

Civ IV is still way the best version - mainly because of the modmods; Fall from Heaven 1.0g adds races religion and magic to create a virtually new game... and like Civ, the later version FfH2, is nowhere near as much fun. FfH1 has a grabbag of characters, including Inquisitors! And there are multiple promotion trees... Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition

It's Monday. I think we all know which one of us plays the socially abnormal killer in this, it would clearly be... Uh... Oh wait... Um... All of them?

Kayne for President!
I was reading The rats in the walls and came across a racist name for a cat. I posted some woke stuff online to hopefully address the balance.
Games: Some NMS and PUBG.
Telly: The Justice League film, which was fuckin' abysmal.
Ottm: Playgrounds not open in Sheffield yet, presumably to allow some council worker to mope about and put a few stickers around whilst on triple overtime.

Morning all.
The playground gates in Saltdean park are currently chained closed. Didn't stop some errant yoofs playing in there on Friday... RULE BREAKING!!
Gamesblog: Skyrim. Got me a Master Robe of Destruction, meaning lots of fire and brimstone can be rained down on my foe without me running out of magicka. Welcome to the big leagues!
TVblog: Sherlock and Community series three finale. [sigh] Onto the fourth series...

Monday question:
As we all know, an egg on top of food makes it better, that’s just basic, but what type of egg? Fried? Poached?

Follow up question:
Even curry?

There’s a Dishoom recipe that is just grated cheese, onion and chillies on toast, oven baked and served with a poached egg and a dollop of tomato sauce.
Amazing.
