I'm half Swiss and I even find the winter Olympics boring as hell. Half Swiss the rest Tony? Commenting on a forum is very much like making love to a beautiful woman. Half man, half Toblerone.

roast chicken, fat chips, Yorkshire's, carrots, broccoli, gravy. That's dinner.
Caught the first run on the slopestyle. Then had to come make the above mentioned. Hopefully a bit more later and gaming hour.

I've had no dinner, and now I'm on the craft beer. This may not end well.
Got past a somewhat troublesome ffxiv mission I'd been putting off for a while last night. Looking forward to pushing on with the story when I get the chance. Nier will likely get in the way when it arrives, however.

I cooked a chicken pilaf. It was very good. The key is toasting the rice in the oil/butter until it starts to brown before adding the stock. Adds a nice nutty flavour to the final dish.
4 stars.

I made red spaghetti using a recipe for the sauce handed down from one generation to the next. I have also developed a knack for sneaking up on players building forts in Fortnite and killing them to death. I have drunk much Glenmorangie.
I bet the Swiss are killing it in the Olympics.

Perhaps we should open up a Chatterbox Recipe thread?

It's s real shame that there aren't more Scottish athletes* at the winter Olympics. We're used to shitty weather, and if the categories included "Men's Pairs All Day Drinking" and "Mixed Doubles Arguing About Fuck All with Assorted Chibbing" we'd be dead certs for gold.
* in the way that darts players are "athletes"

How do you make a Swiss Roll?* * Not expecting a response. This is not an invite for jokes. Push him down a hill!! He said not an invite for jokes, Bloggie! So you need flour, sugar, vanilla, eggs, cream and raspberry jam... Tonight's dinner plan (tuna pasta bake) got scuppered by Mr Enemy's lactose intolerance being more intolerant than usual after having cheese at lunchtime. Quick change of plans, got out the frozen quick standby paella and spiked it with extra chorizo and mussels. Watched a bit of the Winter Olympics opening ceremony on the replay, cheered for the small South African delegation (one athlete, plus trainer and physio). Mr Enemy declared himself only to be interested in figure skating, but it's all in the wee small hours of the morning, so we shan't be watching it live. Gaming: entered the DLC divine beast, activated three out of four terminals so far, and really enjoying it. This one seems to have a real Meccano feel to it, connecting cogs and bits to get where you want to be. Weather: shite.

I don't like this trend of referring to the Winter Olympics as The Olympics.
The Winter Olympics are the equivalent of the Technical Oscars. The people involved are highly skilled and deserve to have their talents rewarded but the occasion lacks the prestige and interest of their more glamorous sibling.
If you want to mess about in the snow, that's fine but don't try and pretend your antics are of interest to the non-snowbound.

A typo meant that the astigmatism in the left lens had been rotated by ninety degrees. No wonder it was blurry!
@destry Nice series of shots. Not sure what the RPS would say about them - they may fit more in with fine art.

Mrs Cranks brother in law - well the mo cap co he works for does - has a technical Oscar for Polar Express. You still dress up and get presented by scarlet Johansson. They just don't show it on TV.
Hello. Swimming this morning, quesidillas for lunch. BF1 last night.

A typo meant that the astigmatism in the left lens had been rotated by ninety degrees. No wonder it was blurry! That would have produced an interesting visual effect. Maybe nominate your optician for a technical Oscar? Considering how much money they ask for, and to think that they've got to bin that lens, it seems an expensive typo. Or maybe they are dirt cheap to produce and they make them pricey because they can.

Or maybe they are dirt cheap to produce and they make them pricey because they can. You wouldn't get anywhere in camera club submitting images that were that blurry. In addition, lines were skewed, which meant I felt like I was leaning over to one side while chopping onions last night. Apparently they're Nikon lenses, so can understand the price of those. It's the frames where they get you though.

The weather has just turned from blue sky and sunshine into a vicious snow flurry. A bit volatile.
Edit: not enough for Birmingham to host the Winter Olympics, but I now wish that I had one of these traditional Korean winter outfits they were showing off. Looked extremely cosy.

They are cheap to make. Before they are ground down to make lenses they are convex on one side, concave on the other about 3" in diameter and smooth. Ideal for grinding down cocaine. Apparently.

Wow. Crankie really killed it.
What's everyone had/having for tea?
We had paprika, garlic and herb roast chicken breast with gravy, roast potatoes, peas and sweetcorn.

Pizza for me!
Had a long day looking after the wee nephew so my brother and sister in law could have a rest. So consequently me and the other half are exhausted. I'm really glad we can just give him back at the end of the day, he's lovely but I don't know how parents cope doing it everyday.
Oh, and he did an absolutely horrific poo. The rotten shit.

Home made pizza. I'm getting dangerously close to the kilo of parmesan a supplier sent to my company and I got to keep because I "eat that sort of shit". Yes, I do eat food made from ingredients. Thanks.
I'm watching altered carbon, I'm not sure I fully understand what's going on most of the time but the dongs keep me watching.

Tea: lamb mince, tomatoes, chickpeas and peppers and couscous.
Figure skating: watched some highlights. One Canadian couple danced to "Sympathy for the Devil" and "Hotel California". Nice choice of sinister earworms.*
Have now activated all terminals. I'm going in deeper. Wish me luck.
*Not to be confused with another of Hum's favourite bands, The Sinister Earworms.
