Morning all,
Restarted a game on Rome II, this time as Pontus. Interesting faction and plenty of nice units. 4 stars.
Finished recording my podcast on the ancient Olympics. Going to be an hour or so, plenty of editing to get through.

Morning. I went out on Sunday night and absolutely wrecked. I struggled to get out of bed and to endure child care and then half a day of gardening. Absolute hell. Still feel ropey now. Games: Back on the PUBG, doing squads with randoms now and the average player here is a potato compared to solos, so I am enjoying it again. Telly: That new karate kid spin off, ok so far. Weather: Sunny, bit of cloud. This is because you are now old/nearly dead. The last couple of times I've forgot that I am not 25 anymore and got totally wasted it took days, at least 3, to recover. And then I'd usually get a cold. |

I know nothing about Pokemon. And I am very content for things to remain that way
Mostly quiet weekend.
Record Store Day
I went to Nottingham for a bit of Rough Trade. Joined a socially distanced queue at 7.45 am (nothing to do with COVID it's just a community dominated by ex-shoegazers. Well current shoegazers, but you know what I mean)
Mostly I wanted a Suede B-side compilation on LP. obviously I already own the CD. Also the Gruff Rhys pre-orchestral version of Babelsberg.
I also bought other overpriced records. Hmm.
I also went to Waterstones, but I did not send any money there. I am cured*!
Nottingham
I liked the improvements to the road system they have made. Shutting off random roads definitely adds to the sense of mystery.
Also on the road to Nottingham it said the A52 was closed which doesn't affect me
On the way out it turns out that the only bit closed was the bit that allows you to exit the city to the M1 south. Instead I had to use the A52 to leave.
Games
I bought CK3 but i have not installed it I think. Maybe it will self install automatically. Maybe not.
*until Thursday anyway when the big Autumn book publication day happens

I don't play that many games on PC
Maybe it would be worth it, maybe not. But I am happy not to be on Bill Gates' register.
I was considering buying the cheap new digital only Xbox if it is less than £200 to go alongside the PS5.
I'm not sure there are that many games I'd play on it.

I was considering buying the cheap new digital only Xbox if it is less than £200 to go alongside the PS5. I'm not sure there are that many games I'd play on it. You run Linux then? Fair enough about the sub thing but, CK3 is £42 on Steam, GP is £1 for one month then £4, so 11 months of GP for the same price plus access to all the other games, of course you lose access after that so swings and see-saws. |

No Games, No telly, too much to drink, not enough to eat, insides turned into something extremely nasty.

Ive joined a FB group with model painting stuff on it, It been 30 years since I last tried but its nice to finally see why I was doing everything wrong and everything turned out so awfully. In related news the Games Workshop in Edinburgh is closing down and being replaced by yet another dire souvenir hole.
Is it too early to start looking forward to this years Christmas cheese haul? Only 3 and a half months to go.

I think I posted on the guardian cbox back yonder about a hen party I saw that were meandering down the street and found themselves outside the window of the Edinburgh games workshop. OTTM. Trying to work out how to use Tableau. The promo videos make it look like you shove in spreadsheets and hey presto. Not the case funnily enough.
