I also watched one episode of Lovecraft Country. No thanks. Not for me. I didn't like the start. But then I got into it; then I didn't like the end. Monsters and action. The monsters should be so monstrous they send you mad, just from seeing them. And the action should be completely absent. I guess that's why you're in Chatterbox Country; it's like an ageing gamers' museum, where the exhibits are monstrous AND mostly mad; and the action is restricted to seeing whether Oz the Insane* is going to appear and spout inchoate gibberish. *No need for Oz to socially distance, when folk hear him coming they cross the street, hail a taxi or remember an urgent appointment elsewhere. Some say, Oz is the sane one and we're the inmates.

How many PhDs do you needfor Crusader Kings? Played it once and built a Church wall. That was it.

Morning!
Last night I joined the weekly social distancing game stream that went on for almost 4 hours. Every fortnight we are playing The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky where the orphanage had just burnt down. Naturally we talked to every NPC in town and did some side quests before checking whether any of the orphans had been burnt to a crisp. It's important to get your priorities right.
OTTM: my boiler is working fine.

Oh, and I also watched another episode of The Avengers with the Pref.Mam. who likes it a lot but whose face blindness is giving him trouble recognising Diana Rigg as Emma Peel. He's complaining about her constantly changing outfits.
(It goes without saying that he can't tell the male characters apart, either.)

Anyone reading any good books?
I am reading ... Art Sex Music by Cosey Fanni Tutti. It's quite good. Interesting. I didnt know much about Throbbing Grisle really.
Anyway - it turns out Genesis P-Orridge was a real piece of work.
I also ... picked up a book called Novacene, by James Lovelock. He says he's sure there's no other intelligent life in the universe, because the conditions are so particular it could only have happened once.
I don't buy it. I mean I did buy the book. It had a great cover.

I've got a small Himalayan kingdon in Crusader Kings III. It gets raided and I can't do a thing about it. I spent half an hour yesterday looking for a suitable wife for my character's son, who I think is described as an 'Analytic Villain'. I was hoping to find a 'Compassionate Thinker' but alas, no ... Rapacious Adventurers aplenty. Not for my son.

I should probably get a heating-engineer booked-in for a boiler-service. Ideal time for it isn't it? You know, before we're in the depth of winter.
Saying that, it is still marvellously warm here. I can feel the heat of the sun on my back as I queue to pick up my son from school. I'm still the only one wearing a mask.

Morning Everyone. I downloaded and played My Time at Portia demo. Scubar's anger and disillusionment makes much more sense now.

Boiler chat.
When I turn my hot water on the upstairs radiators heat up.
I presume this is a bad thing?
At least all that insurance I’ve been paying British Gas should pay off.
Baldurs Gate.
I’m down to the final confrontation with the big boss back in the city, so I’ve decided to stroll around the countryside finishing off some of the quests from earlier chapters that I wasn’t levelled up enough for. Done the tower with the dwarves doppelgängers, I’ve got a spider hole to clear and there’s a bit where you get sent off to an artic island (I presume a reference to Ice Wind Dale.
I’m now at the point where the game is just inventory management, but I still have a few slots for some armour, rings and necklaces to wear.

I have a pronounced widow's peak and the rest is thinning out. And yet in other places hair is appearing for the first time, nose, ear etc.... It's a wonderful time of life. I have an island of hair forming, which I have dubbed Hong Kong. But unlike the real HK which gets closer to Kowloon with each passing year (land reclamation projects), mine shall soon be free. And when it is, I'll be going full-Stipe.
