I've just deleted my post about Tuffers conkers, it was a rush job which was poorly thought through and was in poor taste and I made a mistake as it should have said end and not deleted the word second, (not my finest moment). My spinal pain is a constant distraction and I make errors such as smashing my hand against the fridge door and breaking my favourite coffee cup. (#bigboysdon'tcry) Spinal pain is a fucker. Try not to punch the fridge while holding your favourite cup though. Even if the fridge deserved it. |

The original reporting was less than honest. Firstly it was in 13 pubs only. It led to a 5% fall in custom and a 10% fall in beer sales. If you account for the ex-customers who just left it's actually a 5% fall in sales. 95% of the customers drank 90% of the beer. It would be interesting to know what the missing 8% did. I suspect they went to other pubs and did not change consumption habits. Also pubs are struggling for income. The 12 pubs only participated because they were paid for the lost sales. I do not object to pubs offering a wider range of sizes. I would object to reduced glass sizes. Can you double-check your maths please? I can't find where you got your figures. I'd like to copy your work, but not if you've made an error. |

With a lot of games you need to have a competitive personality to want to get gud and beat the game. I'm not in the least bit competitive and just look for something entertaining. Tolkien resisted, in both the writing of LoTR and writing about it, interpretations of fable or allegory, which perversely perhaps leaves the text more vulnerable to a prejudiced or one-eyed allegorical evaluation. A lot of the language and tropes really haven't aged that well (some of the same words written today would doubtless be overtly racist) which perhaps also makes it attractive to the fascists. |
