Joe Biden, who is probably a decent guy, albeit a tad old to be in a high pressure job, has just made a horrible misstep. I can't remember verbatim (ffs it's nearly 3 in the morning), but the gist of his statement is "The Democrats need to win by a landslide in order to avoid accusations of irregularities in the postal vote."What's the false corollary that this implies? Quite. If Trump loses, as most sane individuals hope, by a small margin he can point to this statement and say that "Even the Democrats admit they needed to win by a landslide to avoid accusations of irregularities in the postal vote." in order to call for a judicial review and a rerun. Not that he hasn't just seeded the Supreme court with a solid majority of right-wing judges. Seem extreme? This is what happens in a country where you elect the officers of the law. |
