That’s Amipal?
Good lord...
Games - God Of War - got to the summit of the mountain, only to find that my princess was in another castle/I had more adventuring to do. It’s great game, but goddammit Kratos, just give your son a hug for crying out loud.
TV - discovered that Archer S11 has started, I have some catching up to do. S10 and then S11.

Harry Maguire meet your fan club... I'm afraid the "I feared Poulsen was pretending to be a Denmark player and feared for my life so I kicked him" isn't going to keep this lot off your back ... Seriously, wtf was Southgate thinking playing him. Although the manager can't be blamed for Reece James* succumbing to his desire to tell the officials that they were all a bunch of fucking cunts. *Isn't James eligible to play for the sheep shaggers?

Morning all,
In the grand context of things it's nothing but bad news yesterday when the managing agents said no pets. The chap we'd been speaking to had done the unwritten thing of giving it the informal thumbs up. Obviously something has changed and we got an email yesterday which stated that the managing agents are 'reviewing their policy'.
What makes it a tougher pill to swallow is that most people in our flats have dogs.Rescue homes require proof that you have permission from the landlord. Makes sense but had we bought a dog from a puppy farm rather than rehome one from a Romanian kill shelter we wouldn't have had this problem.
sigh.
Nothing, as I said in the grand scheme of things but still saddening.
Footballchat. I expect Gareth Waistcoat to still start both the red carded players. Once remember hearing Darren Gough talking about the England cricket team at one point and saying how it was harder to get dropped than picked.

Morning. Been really busy.
Chumbles - do you really need a whopping Threadripper CPU? That really ups the price for your bundle and it tends to be used by specialists for things like visual and rendering programs. A Ryzen 3600 would bring the cost right down, along with a cheaper CPU fan and motherboard.
I would then not buy a GPU now and use your existing 1080 until the 3080 is back in stock and then buy that. The 2070 is a good 1440 GPU but would struggle a little at 4k.

Chumbes Did you see I Am David* or whatever Attenborourgh called his latest programme? It's on Netflix and is well worth a watch * A life on our planet I watched the first 10 minutes of it, lots of spiel about climate change and grainy footage of a mocked up child Attenborough so I turned it off. Looked like a bit of a vanity piece and I just want to watch wolves ripping deep apart.

Thanks for those thoughts; they are useful - every pass by the potential solutions helps me to focus. First thought is that I cannot DIY anything (disabled, housebound yah de yah), but also no damned space. So I have to pay my IT guy to do it; and while he now charges me "mate's rates" those charges represent cash that could go into the machine. Second point is that though I am income poor, I am capital rich, and as I have previously explained, planning to limit what I do in the future isn't healthy for me, so I see no reason to constrain my spending. I have learnt the hard way to buy once, by well. Although I need to be certain before I commit, I want the new setup done by Christmas. I have all the time in the world, and possibly very little ...

Who gets the machine though when you're gone?
If it's me you should really spec it out. If it's Shenguin make sure you get the pentium with MMX.
Or you intending full Valhalla? On the boat with you covered in petrol?
I had seriously thought about the compilation cd that I was going to have burned and handed out at my funeral - hidden track "I am the resurrection" - but it's all playlists nowadays so I suppose I better think about that instead.
Morning.
Games. Ghost Recon Wildlands had played the 4hr demo on the pc but decided to get it on the PS4 via ebay. Ouch. Not nearly as pretty.

hello What's happening? ... I played Star Wars: Squadrons last night. I liked it a bit more than I did last time. It's not bad. Although ... It isn't as good as the Battlefront VR X-Wing demo. It's much less polished. Also ... The X-Wing cockpit - the virtual cockpit - is smaller than the one in the Battlefront demo. It feels small. If feels like you're sitting in a Reliant Robin ... The Star Destroyers are smaller too. I would say maybe 1/2 to 2/3 the size. And ... The Battlefront VR X-Wing demo is so good becaue the Tie Fighters fly in the same way as they do in the films. They pretty much line up in front of you to shoot. In Star Wars: Squadrons, not so much ... But on balance I like it.

I've just been watching a film on the Sony Movie Channel.
Not bad. Flight World War II. It's about a 757 that flies through a storm in the Bermuda Triangle and gets transported to a German bombing raid in 1940.

It's clear that the real nazis are on the 757 ... Femi-nazi air stewardesses who won't give a man a straight answer.

Morning!
House improvement chat: Still waiting for my builders to show up. They were supposed to come between half past 9 and 10 o'clock. Their frontman phoned at noon to say that he was running late as he was standing "in the yard" where the timber for our new roof beams was being cut. It was difficult to hear what he was saying because the machine in the background was very noisy. At one point it sounded as if he had stepped into the exhaust stream of a jet engine. Maybe that explains why I'm still waiting.
My manly workmen banter is woefully inadequate, but I bet none of your builders have ever called you "flower".
LOL dolls chat: granddaughter's birthday has been a full success to judge by the squeal she gave out when she saw the dolls. These particular dolls come with a little blacklight torch, so her future job as a crime scene investigator is secure. On the other hand she might want to avoid switching it on in hotel rooms.
Games chat: ACNH, going full in on the Halloween theme.
TV chat: still diligently watching The Avengers.
