crankcaller you were a roadie? Any saucy anecdotes about moderately famous rock stars? Was it the full Hammer of the Gods experience? I was a terrible sound engineer and occasionally roadied 88-92. All mostly low level stuff. Pre record deal level for the most part. No real anecdotes. One band that I did the sound for probably made their most money by sending in the clip of the singer falling offstage when he tripped over a badly placed coiled mic lead to "you've been framed" More toffee hammer than hammer of the gods.

Many of you have made the mistake of thinking that bands at the cooler end of the music scene that were around when you were aged between 10 and 30 were good. You'd have thought that about any collection of bands that seemed a bit edgy or part of a scene, regardless of what bands that happened to be or how shit they were, or what era of music that happened to be; the key driver of musical judgement is not the quality of music but the age of the listener.
TL;DR? Shenguin is so superior it hurts.

Who are the greatest Scottish band? I want to say Primal Scream but what kind of reflection is that on Scotland? I mean an accurate one, but still.
The Proclaimers?

I've never heard of Menswear before. The musical act, not the category of clothing.
I have heard of all those dull as a dishwasher indie bands from the 90s that all sound the same. Absolute pish.
Now Meatloaf, that's a band.

Not spelling it Menswe@r with the @ instead of an A grinds my gears.
It was a deeply annoying twatty thing in the 1990s, but at least give them some respect in using the @ sign before it became popular.

9/10 on the punchability index, possibly followed up with a knee to the bollocks. You can actually see our simian heritage in that man’s face. Actual living proof of evolution. I believe that's devolution. As the gene pool shrinks so recessive genes exhibit and deformed creatures like that appear in small populations. They grow excessive hair, emit raucous ululations whilst snorting, hitting, banging objects and each other.

How Scottish does a band have to be? Is just the singer enough?

I thought the Scotch only had The Proclaimers? And they seem to have walked much more than 500 miles by now - they go on and on about it.
