Very funny! And you've given me an arm graft - whose was it and will it kill me in my sleep? If I were of the dancing persuasion I would dance like this: It's why I am not of the dancing persuasion! Tall, heavy and badly coordinated, it's a miracle that when I have been persuaded to dance I haven't maimed someone ... Edit: morning Tids, Babyfark...

Should have tried ecstasy when you had a chance chumbles. The drug that can make white men dance. Actually want to. Probably badly, But not care.
Morning. Rain. Off to work. Games. No. TV. Finished the Style Council documentary. Wellar not coming across as the dick I'd imagine.
Games. No.
Today I have to have a chat at work with someone - who is not my junior - about doing something a different way. He's going to complain and whinge and sulk and I can't be arsed. Yes, he *should* be putting the milk in last.
Ottm. Another covid case in the child's school.

Hello all.
Back to work after (almost) a week off. Of course, this means going up to the study rather than travelling anywhere. I wouldn’t mind going into the office now, actually. Just for a change of scenery, you know?
Maybe I’ll paint the walls a different colour? Hang some photos? Play some office-hubbub sound in the background?
Gamesblog: no.
TVblog: Top Gear. I watched up until the end of the electric cars bit (which was enjoyable), then switched off - not too fond of the presenters.

Actually, the whole format of the show has become farcical. I thought they would review the electric cars, not just race them on a glorified dodgem course. Tossers.
OTTM: Considering watching 'Black Mirror' as 'Breaking Bad' seems to have run out of oomph.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH That is all. Another day full of chores.
But there is a good thing, my godson* is getting his corrective operation today. Poor chap has 12+ hrs. of it.
*For the avoidance of doubt, I do not believe in christianity. In truth I revile that patriarchal, LGTB** suppressive, misogynistic organization. I've got too much to do to go into a rant *assume mega rant here*.
**oops = LGBT; LGTB = Local Government Training Board. I'm a LGTB qualified training instructor. Amongst enough qualies to ensure that when I was job hunting after being made redundant I wasn't able to get a job interview in mostly anything other than as a shelf-stacker for a year. I did have a couple of interviews in local government one of which my prospective boss realised I was more qualified than her boss and her boss's boss. The idea of having a subordinate whose dissertation was a reference in a lot of LA research papers did not appeal to her.

I did used to quite enjoy old-TG - was a guilty pleasure of mine. The Honda-e is a lovely little car, just a little too pricey. And that dash is fantastic - should be hacked to show Star Trek TNG graphical displays, that would be awesome.

I'm not a qualified training instructor in that! didn't I read somewhere that you were a librarian at some point in your life, I'd say that makes you alphabetically qualified.

Talking of libraries...
Books
Children of Ash and Elm It's a very 2020s popular academic history book* about Vikings. Apparently they were pretty tolerant for the most part, but were like the Romans. Receiving was not a publicly acceptable option for a man. It occasionally led to both giver and receiver being buried in a bog. Mostly though if you raped and pillaged you could do it however you liked.
Four stars. Do you like books about Vikings? Yes, yes you do. Recommended
* By which I mean it's written to be read, unlike traditional academic history which was at best written to be studied and at worst written to prove the writer was more intelligent than the reader.

Hello! I did not have a good evening last night. After my post yesterday t'internet went more flaky than a 99. I briefly joined the game stream of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines by watching on my mobile phone, but it was intolerable and I was eventually kicked off Twitch. Reset the broadband hub several times. Game changer! Now it wasn't working at all. Terrible scenes. Ran the diagnostic test on it and landed on the "book an engineer" space. Now, I'm sure that Virgin Media keeps its engineers largely Covid-free but I wasn't keen on the idea and also not convinced that the fault was on our side. Checked the whole length of our cable, which seemed fine, but ordered a new coaxial cable, to be delivered tomorrow, from Jeff to be on the safe side. Went to bed late with no TV, hoping that things would look better in the morning, wondering how we will cope without internet and checking the data allowance on my phone. Woke up this morning to a strong and stable internet connection. Words cannot describe the relief that washed over me. Now Chumbles 's godson's operation needs to be a success and the Yanks need to chuck out the pumpkin in the White House tomorrow. I think I'm entitled to a bit of a break. Currently waiting for delivery by - oh gods - Herpes of my glow-in-the-dark Boo amiibo. What could possibly go wrong?

I had no idea that Johnny Depp was still a person of relevance, but I have just learned from the guardian that he is the centre of the BIGGEST THING THAT IS HAPPENING IN THE WORLD RIGHT NOW.
To paraphrase: Wife beater Johnny Depp, after beating his wife, sued the Sun for referring to him as a wife beater, on account of him beating his wife.
Thanks Guardian. I feel edified.

Lunch Few pints of stella with Johnny Depp. I was certainly surprised to see a renowned coke head with a history of violently threatening paparazzi lose that case.

tenthenemy - we're in the pre-lockdown panic period where the world and their monkey starts mashing F5 repeatedly. I noticed summat similar as I was trying to get on Tesco's website to amend this week's order. "User reports indicate Virgin Media is having problems since 12:26 AM" GMT. Are you also affected? Leave a message in the comments."
