Laphroiag is not that dissimilar from Talisker. Peatier. The 10 year old is £26 at Sainsbury Highland Park at £25 is probably better value.
I'd also recommend the Ardbeg, but that is £37.

As much as I’d like to be boozing throughout Christmas Day, it’s just not going to happen, as I’ll be on driving duty. This, despite my all-but-teetotaller-partner who has a driving license, but won’t drive.
I’ve made a huge mistake.

Oh yeah I'm still disqualified from driving, got to go to court in March to clear my name. I will then be going after them for compensation for what has been a complete shit show.

Hello Whiskyblog Looking for something to have at Xmas. Annoyed that Sainsburys didn't have the 10 year Talisker anymore.
I'm halfway down a bottle of Jamesons Black Barrel. Would definitely recommend, especially as Morrisons have it reduced from £37 to £27 at the mo...

Amaretto sours are the shit.
Amaretto, sugar, lemon juice. Stick it all in a shaker with ice, give it a good old shake, pour over fresh ice, enjoy. Repeat x15 then retire to bed smelling of marzipan/cyanide.

I've got an unopened bottle of this in the house. www.thewhiskyworld.com/glengoyne-17-year-old-old-bottling-p1139£159 and I don't like Whisky. Was going to sell at an auction and then covid hit. I'm never going to buy a bottle of booze worth that so should I hang onto in case I start liking whisky? It gives me the dry boak when I taste it. My sister has a bottle as well. They came from my mum's house. Hello. I ordered beer for Xmas from salt beer factory that arrived today. Including two cans of a 10.8% triple IPA citra thing. Someone recommended them.

Whisky chat.
I have an unopened bottle of Talisker Storm (in a fancy box) that was a present for my 40th, nearly six years ago. I suspect it will be worth the same as one in the supermarket right now.
I'm not a huge fan of strong smokey/peaty whisky. But I think this should be OK.
I'll probably just stick to my Highland Park. I'm not a huge whisky drinker really.
Used to be into The Macallan a few years back. Lovely stuff.

I only really like Canadian Club or Jameson, neither of which qualify for the discussion.

I haven't drunk spirits for over 5 years, not after 'The Incident'.
Right, I'm going to have a shave. My 'tache is curling into my mouth. This will not do.

Since I can't go to Sainsbury's at the moment I've got to rely on Ocado for my whisky supply. They've got decent savings on most single malts. Islay for peat, Speyside for smoothness, everything else for a bit of variety. Unfortunately Highland Park is one of the few that's not currently on offer, but Scapa, another Orkney one, is. ... but at the moment I'm not having any whisky myself because it's no fun without the Pref.Mam. who's still stuck in hospital. He's got a new problem now, his red blood cell count has dropped which has led doctors to believe that he's sprung a leak somewhere. He's already had a blood transfusion yesterday which fortunately he is tolerating very well and an endoscopy today because they thought the source of the bleeding was somewhere in his stomach. Only to find nothing (according to him). Predictably Pref.Mam. is getting more and more frustrated. The whole thing is decidedly meh. Speaking of Ocado, today they sent us a personalised video that shows a summary of the shopping we've done with them over the last year. The breakdown is as follows: - Fruit & veg (12%)
- Chilled (12%)
- Beer, wine & spirits (13%)
- Dairy & eggs (16%)
- Cupboard fillers (22%)*
That's all the major food groups covered then. Nice of them to keep quiet about the remaining 25% junk food. *slightly inflated by foodbank donation items?
