St Paul's Cathedral (my grandfather and his father were born in the stews a mile to the East*) Chartres Cathedral (You can see it for forever driving South from Dreux to Bonneval) Notre Dame ( pre-conflagration) Tintern Abbey (Lines, baby, lines) Winchester Cathedral (loved the song) *My great-grandparents lived in a tenement off Arthur's Court "Notes on the Strand: reasons why population has decreased during the period 1861 - 1891; homeless people attracted to the work available at Covent Garden market; other employment in the area; poverty; St Clement Danes parish is the poorest parish; types of housing; average rents; sketch of ground floor plan of house in Turners Court; description of Turners Court, Whitehouse Yard, Arthurs Court; sketch of ground floor plan of Holles Street." LSE, item 3 - Charles Booth's Life and Labour survey; The purple circle indicates the spot where 4 generations = 15 of my family, lived in one room in a 4 storey tenement with about 16 families sharing one toilet. Grim doesn't cover it. St Paul's was a glimpse of heaven for them.

What's on the menu on the big day then?
We are having turkey and Coca Cola Ham. PM and her mother will barely eat anything so it will be up to yours truly to scoff the lion's share.

Some sweet top 6 wankers here. There are RULES people. Otherwise I'd have added Rosslyn Chapel and set off the tin foil hat brigade.

I was brought up to appreciate a good cathedral. Me? It was castles. Apart from Cardiff, the only good reason to go to Wales.

When I went to Aachen a few years ago they were preparing for some commemorative event so we were only allowed to stick our heads in through the door of the church. Quite annoying. The treasury museum was good though.
There was also a guy playing bagpipes in the main square, which was quite immersion breaking.

Good morning, Work is relentless. Calls from 9am until 1.30, now I've got until Spurs reserves kick off against Stoke at 5.30 to get everything done so I can log off on 'vacation for the holidays'

The timing of all this is very convenient. A new strain of Covid is 'discovered' at exactly the same time that the government realise they done fucked up by announcing a Christmas truce, and now this new foreign mega-covid is revealed just as:
A) the govt could do with drawing attention away from the fact that the EU vassal state of France are actually able to close their borders independently.
B) the govt could also do with drawing attention away from the fact that the brexit dream of a Great Britain completely cut off from the rest of Europe might not actually be that practical.
C) public confidence in the sinister foreign-made, nanobot containing vaccine doesn't seem as high as it should be.
