It amused me and I wondered if anyone besides you, Sandy or Melvazord would know who it was.
Hello. Just cleaned the bathroom. The child is on day 2 of Lego building. I've not been involved - but once it's done I'm sure I'll be roped in to play with it.

Hope you are feeling better today, Chumbles , after yesterday's routine yet festive torture by nursey. This morning I got proof that yesterday's collective crossing of digits has worked, as the Pref.Mam. has been transferred to the Rehab Clinic, so thank you all! So he's finally escaped from the hospital, even if he's not home yet. It's like watching a really slow game of Escape from Colditz, only that he's trying to get to safety with the Germans instead of running away from them. I was also surprised that last night I was visited by the Guardian Pick Fairy for a rant that I had posted under Simon Parkin's top games of the year article. Probably because I was fiercely defending the Guardian. Probably. Brought another perfect Snowboy into existence in ACNH (or ANCH, as Crank likes to call it), and found the illuminated tree recipe in my first balloon of the day this morning when I was doing my weekly neeps shopping. Oh, and Curly has left my island. This means that I'll be doing some island hopping later today.

These days his physiognomy serves as a powerful reminder to those who might be unsure, that Tillicoultry is in fact near Stirling.

Morning!
For some reason I feel like I drank almost all the gin and played Fortnite really quite badly until gone 4. My co-criminal was not significantly better.

I haven’t been outside yet, but so far damaged seem light: our recycling bin is now horizontal You didn't weigh it down with empty bottles. Rookie mistake. There was plenty of recycling in the bin. Alas, the wind was just too powerful down this way.

It's pretty disrespectful to Archie McPherson. The great man himself knew how to disrespect pundits better than anyone. Will we ever see his like again?

hello
I played Kingdom Come: Deliverance a bit yesterday. Before going to bed I watched a documentary called 'These woods are haunted', featuring two real life accounts of things seen in woods...
1. The Hairy Man. Or a hairy man - a hairy monster
2. Some sort of 'ghoul' ...
I also made a complaint about a Vodaphone 5G advert. It featured a boy getting transported into a VR world using a Vodaphone connection and full haptic bodysuit. What a crock! It flashed up 'VR headset and Teslasuit not included', but the Teslasuit is not even on full commercial release...

Good Morning Everyone! Drink, Jim? Yes please. I languished in bed reading a Hubert Selby Jr book. A bad business. Really harshed my Christmas buzz.

Not saying much, but there's that statement, floundering on the table like a post-Brexit fish... I am still recovering - mainly desperate to sleep atm. Good to hear that your PM is in rehab

I watched the sequel to 300. It was awful until Eva Green went topless, then it was like OK now we have a movie.
I should probably stop drinking heavily, it's been 4 days now.

Melvazord - tell me you haven't ever used any of these. God knows I've used some cheesy lines in my time when playing Diplomacy and D&D, but none as stomach- churning as some of these... Worst line used on me was when waiting to bat, a friend of a friend said pointing to my white cricket shirt "Look Chumbles, even the greenfly love you."

I tried watching 300 with the Pref.Mam. when I was teaching a course on Herodotus. Strictly for professional reasons, you understand. We only got about halfway through when I gave in to Mr Tent Rooster's whining whether please, please could we watch something else?
Academics in their ivory towers and all that. Still, the course on Sparta got a lot of mileage out of the "This is SPARTAAAAA!!!" meme.

Ah yes Herodotus, the classical world's version of "some bloke down the pub said" Herodotus: "I heard, right, that, you know Babylon yeah? The walls are, like, 100 metres high and 50 metres thick!" Some Greek: "Really?! You saw them?!" Herodotus: "sure, why not"

I'm getting ads for boxing events. I guess it was inevitable for the Boxing Box Day box.
I wonder what they will advertise on Fish Pun Friday?

*smug* That little bronze medal under Frankie means I don't get ads for the measly price of $5 a month AND I get to support the guys who host this platform. I don't think we should take proboards longevity for granted.
