Rolling
Tell your colleagues to fuck off.
Also put your work pants on before WhatsApping colleagues while in bed.
I'd set a cut off time for work stuff - 5 pm or 6 pm and anything that comes in after that gets dealt with the next morning.

I think just come off Whatsapp.
Whatsapp isn't good. A poison in the stew of modern life.

The problem with boundaries is really theirs, not mine, though that makes it mine too. A couple are over sharing in an uncomfortable way. I have politely/tacitly been giving fuck off vibes for some time and it's not working. It's tricky to be as blunt as I would like because I am technically line managing some of these people, albeit temporarily. I would like to be unavailable to them completely except via work email. I should never have let them have my mobile in the first place.

I started watching a film last night called The Wandering Earth. Chinese sci fi. Not really sure what to make of it to be honest. Sort of Interstellar meets the Day After Tomorrow, but not as good as either. I fell asleep before the end. I might watch the rest of it later. I watched some of that last year. It’s not great... I mean, the film looks good, but surely they know about pacing, right? It’s all over the place. Yes. This. Absolutely all over the place. It also felt like all the good stuff happened in the first 5 minutes, then it was just generic science fiction tropes. The characters are all awful as well. The astronauts son is an absolute dickhead, his sister just sort of wails instead of speaking. I can't tell if the cosmonaut on the space station is supposed to be a comedy character or not, and the Chinese-Australian guy who presumably is supposed to be funny isn't funny at all. That said, I will definitely watch the rest of it later.

Whatsapp is like a funnel into your head, and people can pour stuff into the funnel 24 hours a day. And sometimes ... you realise you are also such a monster ... emptying nonsense into other people's funnels ....

Here I apparently am. I'm almost the same. Two squares higher, towards authoritarian.

Someone told me that everyone gets libertarian left on the Political Compass.
I sent it to my mum once and she got libertarian left, even though she was a Conservative choosing Brexit voter.

I think it's just a way to get people voting for the Green Party.

Someone told me that everyone gets libertarian left on the Political Compass. I sent it to my mum once and she got libertarian left, even though she was a Conservative choosing Brexit voter. Quite a lot of the left wanted to leave the EU, Jezza himself was only "75%" in favour just before the referendum.

The Bosses' EU.
This is what a Communist news-sheet seller once said to me.
The Line Managers' EU? Doesn't sound like such a bad thing.

Very much this, the Brexit issue was framed as right/left but this never meshed well with reality. Plenty of votes for it came from the left.

I assume everyone gets libertarian left because everyone answers the porn question with 'strongly agree'. It's all just cover for identifying the deviants.
