I kind of object to group displays of emotion, especially where there's insidious pressure to confirm. Also, the joke about giving nurses the clap is so shit that it's annoying to be constantly tempted to make it. I suppose I begrudged ‘Clap for carers’ straight from the off. A neighbour, who we’d never met, put a letter through our door asking us to take part. Our garden looks straight out to a small utility road. You can see no-one, just hear this disembodied clapping all around.
I’ll be honest - at the time I was worried about our neighbours judging us for for not sweeping the yard. I was going for a kind of ‘re-wilding’ concept at the time but it was very much in the transitional stage. Clap for carers - I’ll be honest with you. It was tough.

Just finished watching Soul. Great stuff, really restored my faith in humanity, so I've just popped in here for a palette cleanser.
Clapping for carers is not for me. It's been weaponised by the culture war arseholes running this joint imo. Plus, I know some NHS types round here and if they saw me out clapping I'd never be able to look them in the eye again.
