Keef has two picks on the article on cheating in open world games. Really plumbing the depths of desperate self-congratulatory despair. I hope you don’t mind but I referenced this in a reply to a comment by SirGiggidyMMVIII. I just wanted to make a connection. I don't mind, but Keef obviously took offence and closed the article for comments minutes after you posted . . . chilling levels of suppression of free speech . . . the world hasn't seen anything like this since the height of the GDR.

amipalI'd never heard of Danger 5. Apparently both series are on Youtube. Worth a watch? It’s enjoyable enough. First series is good fun; second, not so much.

Now there's a name I've not heard in a long, long time...

I watched a TV programme the other day about whaling.
Did you know? ...
There were many different whale characters, apparently guarding different whaling zones across the seven seas. Well at last that's what the old whalers thought.
There was Timor Jack, there was Mocha Dick, there was New Zealand Tom, there was Fighting Joe, there was Don Miguel.
I like the sound of this.
Not sure I fancy being a whaler myself...

Its my yearly appraisal this afternoon. I've already had the written document of it, apparently I'm "[my] own worst critic", so I assume someone hasn't been paying enough attention.
Appraise this.

I do sometimes wonder about the economics and practicalities of whale farming.

Melvazord, We can make that into a lie by criticising you a lot, if that would be helpful?

I do sometimes wonder about the economics and practicalities of whale farming. My eyes are terrible; I thought you had morphed into sockpuppetpseudonym and read that as "The economics and practicalities of whale fucking"

I do sometimes wonder about the economics and practicalities of whale farming. It's too much of a COVID risk, that's why Denmark shut all their Minke Farms. Chumbles is clearly thinking of a sperm whale.

Look at this:
It's the front of a sperm whale's head.
What a fascinating creature.

Wait, that picture of whale's sperm thing appears to be genuine. I thought it was some sort of elaborate joke, but whales really do have a large organ called the junk or the melon. Or has someone done a number on the Wikipedia? It's so difficult to know what's genuine.

I was on a zoom call this morning and a colleague mentioned the small town he lives in. I looked it up on Wikipedia and it had under notable people some guy who was the "fastest deliveroo driver 2019" which I thought was a lovely piece of vandalism.

Or has someone done a number on the Wikipedia? It's so difficult to know what's genuine. I knew that the bulbous part of a cetacean's head was dubbed the 'melon', but I did not know it was also nicknamed the 'junk' (as well as the 'case' ... ) It's true though. The Encyclopedia Brittanica confirms this.

Does that include Bristol and Liverpool? If it does my score goes up to 2. Impressive. I think I have been to 19 towns /villages plus 4 cities on the map. Counting Bristol and Liverpool. It might be more. I have not been to Southwest Wales. Swansea and Aberystwyth are my limits. I would not recommend Wrexham. Most of the places have something to recommend them.

I have been to at least six of the Welsh cities and towns.
I'm not trying to be mysterious. I just sometimes forget that I've been to places.
I only recently recalled that I'd once visited Lancaster.

I once started to do the Welsh language course in Duolingo.
I thought that if I did that, as well as Latin, I might be able to speak the legendary language of Arthur.
