I have never finished a Zelda game. I played a lot of Ocarina of Time when it came bundled with the Gamecube. Twilight Princess I didn't like so much. Breath of the Wild ... I got into on the Wii-U but didn't finish and started it again on the Switch. I just feel I'm going through the motions, though - to get back to where I was. I'm not sure I'm that into it anyway. I liked that you used to be able to put your real name in on Zelda games. It made it feel personal. On Breath of the Wild this is not an option. The magic is gone.

Has he got back control from his cat? That cat is not to be trusted with anything electrical. For example, I came back from the Post Office a few weeks ago to find that it had turned on my old laptop. Luckily it takes about 30 minutes to boot up so I caught it in time. What did it want to Google? I'll never know.

I've been doing the homeschooling today as the PM is at the physio. I've discovered that teacher training is *probably* mainly making sure you don't shout "You're fucking wrong. I told you..." repeatedly at 8yr olds. As it would mess with their confidence I belive.

I got a Nutri-bullet for my birthday. I'm pretty excited. I thought, when I got a potato ricer, I was going to be taking food to the next level of smoothness. Now I can go beyond the next level. The final level of smoothness. It's just for sauces really. I've long had a dream of blending eight onions as a base for curry sauce. Tomorrow I might do it.
Tomorrow could be a huge day.

I re-played Ocarina of Time on the Gamecube when it was bundled with Wind Maker, it was already clunky and outdated by that point. when it released on the N64 it was staggering for it's time, much like Mario 64.

I thought it played pretty well on the Gamecube. It was actually the best game I ever played on the Gamecube. At least I liked it the most ... The graphics weren't quite up there but the gameplay and the music. I loved it.

Can I just shock you? I didn't really like breath of the wild. It was good up until I realised that due to the weapons breaking, getting into a fight or more or less in any way engaging with anything that is going on is basically a waste of time that leaves you worse off than you were before. The easiest way to play it is to avoid everything and go straight for the big bastards and shrines, which are by far the worst part of the game. 4 stars.
Otherwise the list is passable.

So uh ...
Anyone got any good weekend plans?
I'm going to blend eight onions and also have another go at getting Divinity: Original Sin 2 to work in multiplayer mode.
I might also go for a run. I have become a real Fatmandu.

Food shopping watch football on tv sulk.
I have a couple of reasonable books on the go.
The Oxford history of the book (not The Book, just books) The Peasants Revolt Dan Jones. It did put me off it that he described Oxford as 200 miles from the coast. It is possibly 200 miles from the French coast. In context that would have made sense. As written though it was just wrong

I would quite like to go somewhere and do something at some point. The work Sainsbury./Waitrose/Tesco routine could benefit from some variation. I might go to Mozzas at Aldridge I suppose. But Mozzas feel high risk to me.

I have a lot of books on at the moment. None have really engaged me. The Wetiko book may just need to be jettisoned from the flat. The most recent one I've picked up again is 'The Age of Arthur', by an esteemed UCL academic, who immediately became less esteemed on publication of this book. It's entertaining enough though. Post-Roman Britain. Lots of maps.

I also discovered that there is a new Neal Stephenson book out in September. I have placed the order in my Amazon basket, but I have not actually ordered it yet. I am savouring the excitement.

He's still on his 24/7 cycle of 5 litres of water plus 5 litres of protein, ensures and milk. Only sleeping 40mins at a time and trying to avoid covid. I think he said he's not coming back in till he feels a bit better and can concentrate more as he's In a lot of pain.

I wonder if his publisher stong-armed him into such a bold claim. Most of the book, so far, seems concerned with the historical context, with some sensation about Arthur in the introduction.
