Is that the John Morris one? Iirc correctly he is pretty optimistic about what can be known... That’s the one. I wonder if his publisher stong-armed him into such a bold claim. Most of the book, so far, seems concerned with the historical context, with some sensation about Arthur in the introduction. "When used in place of strong, stong either implies an association with or jokingly refers to a stunning penis or implies male dominance in general".
I don't like the sound of being stong-armed, publisher or not.

Oh man.
Oh Lord.

Turns out that was a very on-topic contribution from Mr Tiddles.

Afternoon all. My son has discovered Transformers, albeit in their Rescue Bot guises. And so it came to pass that amipal spent a great chunk of the afternoon building them out of Lego. I advised him that they wouldn’t be able to transform; that they’d just be the vehicles. But he already had an answer for that: “build two, the vehicle and robot”...

That was you Kane, and you knows it. I was only copying you your mentorship, as a good student should.

That's dangerously inventive thinking, you should nip it in the bud as soon as possible.

Due to the Zelda chat I'm now charging the 2DS to play Ocarina of Time 3D.
Curry for dinner. A veg/chicken one from the freezer as we know the child likes it and two other ones from Asda. We have naan, poppadoms and spiced onions. Huzzah!

Dinner will be sirloin steak with a stilton sauce, sautéed potatoes* and green beans.
*Well baked in the oven but close enough.

Due to the Zelda chat I'm now thinking about going back to BotW. I've not played it in about 18 months so might just start again.

Yeah I need to restart it as it's about the same time for me. Never really got that far tbh.
Think I need a week at it. Play nothing else and get caught in. The division sucked my time up last time I played it.
Beer in the fridge. About to have my last coffee of the day. The curries were top.

Well the Waitrose steak had very little flavour, very disappointed.
Potatoes were great though. 4*

Over the last few years we've got the M&S £10 thick steaks* and they've been consistently excellent. *which are big enough for 2.

Due to the Zelda chat I should really go back to BOTW and see whether I can finally 100% the map. I was pretty close... Also get through the Trial of the Sword or die trying (I've been very good at the latter).
I've come to a completely different conclusion from Danky as far as skirmishes and weapons breaking in BOTW are concerned. That is that with very few exceptions it is always worth engaging an enemy because you will get plenty of loot. The game chucks more high class weapons at you than you know what to do with. You also need said loot for upgrades, so avoiding fights is not the way forward. The Blood Moon gives you the opportunity to essentially harvest enemies as often as you like.
Fighting in BOTW is always fun, so you will also have more fun.
What has emerged from the Zelda chat is that a surprising number of people didn't get on with BOTW because they found it empty or structureless. But Keza says it best when she writes that BOTW "doesn't feel like a game you've played, it feels like a place you've been." The way to enjoy that game is not to approach it as a game at all, but a place you visit, whose sites you see and whose people you talk to. I've always described it as being on a holiday with monsters.
I'm currently on and off (whenever I get the time) following two different LPs of BOTW. For both players it's their first Zelda game, for one it's his first Nintendo game. He's particularly entertaining, starting out all obnoxious and talking about "Nintendo baby games" and shit. Then he falls in love with the game to a degree that he streamed playing it obsessively for hours (his mum brings him food from time to time that he can eat while he's playing*) day after day until he reached the end. There was no way anyone could keep up with his pace, so I've still got quite a few videos left, but it's just very entertaining to watch him getting charmed by the game.
*If this was a female streamer there's no way her mother would bring her food while she's playing video games. It also made me think about the difference in socialisation between boys and girls and how boys are allowed obnoxious behaviour no girl could get away with.

As much as I respect the opinion of Tent Hen, I will never enjoy a game where weapon degradation is prevalent* to the game play, regardless of the fact it gets better.
*probably the wrong word but I'm sure someone can correct me.

I can say that as an only child, I was completely, totally and 100% spoiled by my mum.
I have no idea whether my gender affected that.

I wouldn't dream of correcting you. You gotta learn to let go, man. Easy come, easy go. Although I totally understand that no-one likes being caught with their Hylian trousers round their ankles, so to speak. Although that can lead to wonderful slapstick situations where you are fighting with your last soup ladle. I don't know why they implemented weapon degradation in BOTW, but if I know the Zelda team then the fact that such a system has the potential for comedy was enough of an argument in favour. Good night, everyone.
