Vegetable Jalfrezi. Not hot enough or tasty enough. 4 stars. Got rid of my luscious Samsonesque mane, which was a waterfall of manly locks spilling over my shoulders, and now I have a home-cut number 4 all over. Do you have a prison tatt to go with it?

You serve two days in lockdown. The day you go in and the day you come out. I have been saying this to my family regularly over the past year. No matter how many times they ask me not to.

Pizza from the co-op. It was ok. First you're down on WandaVision and now Pizza, having a bad day? I am a big fan of pizza generally, it's just this one was mediocre.

Chicken pad thai, washed down with rosé.
All sorts of alarms and excursions today. Eldest granddaughter came down with vomiting and abdominal pain, suspected appendicitis. Her parents phoned 111 in the afternoon and were told that a GP would call them back. 4 1/2 hours later they were still waiting by the phone and told me what was going on. Clearly something had gone wrong with the triage, so I encouraged them to phone 111 again, which they did. Granddaughter had meanwhile come downstairs to watch "The Voice", which could indicate that she was feeling better but has developed a terrible taste in TV programmes. GP finally called and sent them off to A&E. Now awaiting news on further developments.

I thought he was just letting us know that the prawns were dead? You don't want a curry with live animals in it. Babyfark knows.

Not "Dear Reader" but an excerpt by "Constant Reader"* in The New Yorker about "The House at Pooh Corner".
“‘Well, you’ll see, Piglet, when you listen. Because this is how it begins. The more it snows, tiddely-pom-’ ‘Tiddely what’ said Piglet. (He took, as you might say, the very words out of your correspondent’s mouth.) ‘Pom,’ said Pooh. ‘I put that to make it more hummy.’ And it is that word ‘hummy’, my darlings, that marks the first place in The House at Pooh Corner at which Tonstant Weader Fwowed up.”

🎵🎶Happy Bitmaps to me! 🎶🎵 Against all the odds, I've made it to 70! Bugger. That's what a month with not much sleep and a shedload of pain will do to you. Birthday, I means. A special mention for MrTiddles , who sent me a card. I am not back*, just here to say you can roll up your prayer mats, I appear to have mastered keeping my weight on, and imbibing 8 litres of fluids a day. I HATE the flavour (exaggerated for artificial crud) called "white chocolate" in Protein shakes. And no, you can't have my stuff. *Edit: this took an hour to put this together: all my posts take an age and I just don't have that time + reading some posts will doubtless make me froth at the mouth and likely say some unforgivable things. And most of you don't deserve that. Games: AoW3 - wonderful for distraction TV**: Rewatch of The Expanse, when time - utterly brilliant Just started Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell, defo 4* Still watching Lost Girl **Mostly as I do other stuff. Favourite video atm from Melodicka Bros; not all their stuff is good, but this is beautiful:

Morning Chumbles - congratulations on your three score years and ten. OTTM: Our central heating boiler has packed up. Luckily we have British Gas Homeserve so tried to book an engineer visit. Next available slot? 7th April. Apparently their engineers are on strike. Marvellous. Currently pursuing other options.
