Also, I concur with TentHen and Shenguin. I haven't read the rest of the posts, but my preliminary assessment is that you've gone badly wrong there.
I've been watching The Terror too. It's pretty good - very close to what I remember about the book. I'm sure some of those actors are only ever seen in historical dramas. They've just hired the entire cast of Outlander on a bulk buy or whatever.
Also watching this Icelandic series Trapped on Amazon - it is top banana.
Is The Terror good?
The book?
I wanted to read it but then read The Abominable instead, by the same author.
For the love of God, do not read that book.
It's tut.

hello
I'm feeling glassy-eyed this morning. I've spend most of my free time playing Valheim. My only news is to do with computer game goblins and skeletons ... Pieces of leather clothing and log cabins.
Moribund chat.

Hi
Jideo Vames, quite a few short bursts on several games as I couldn't really get into anything. I think my attention span is.. *ooh look a squirrel*
RDR2 - tried the challenge where you need to shoot birds from a train but got bored and shot passers by instead.
GTAV - broke into the mansion and took the car, Michael was waiting in the back seat. Also Chop molested another dog.
Fortnite - had a couple of games a few years ago on the youngests switch but none since. Downloaded it to PS5. First game I ran around, found a shotgun, first person I saw I shot them once, they built a wall in front of themselves, I carried on shooting, then they ran round the back of me and shot me dead - 30th place. Second game, went stealth as I'd found a sniper rifle, didn't see another player, got the 'Top 10' message, was mid legging it to the new storm zone, got snipered, 9th without seeing anyone or shooting my rifle.
I watched a review of The Forest for PS4 which looked interesting, so might get that.
OTTM, schools are open and the house is quiet. Almost too quiet...
Tldr:Aaaarrrrgggggghhhhhhh!

Valheim
I spent a large portion of last night trying to retrieve my clothing from an area of woodland dominated by a house belonging to skeletons ...
I had to make my way to the distant woodland, and set up camp ...
I had to wait out the night, hiding behind a rock from a band of three goblins.
I had to swim across a river and try to sneak back to where my clothes and possessions had been left.
There isn't so much more to it ... The skeletons always seemed to know I was coming and would even came marching out into the river to get me - clacking away under the water. Awful.
I retrived my possessions in the end, and rained down merry hell upon them (the skeletons).
A good game.

I read Hyperion by Dan Simmons and really enjoyed it. Then I tried one of his other science fiction ones and thought it was poor. The Terror was my last effort. If I recall correctly, the setup was pretty good (first 500 pages), but the unfolding of the last 300 pages was not so good and it was a real slog by the end. It was a good speculative historical novel spoiled by a load of half-formed supernatural bobbins. I do wonder if Simmons is a bit of a one hit wonder.

In The Abominable ... *spoiler alert* There isn't any supernatural bobbins. It's a shame. The abominable reference is to a collection of photographs of Adolf Hitler having sex with children, hidden on Mount Everest.

My heating and hot water are working again. I now have a slight dilemma. I've told work I may not be around much today as I needed to get it sorted. Now that it's all fixed, I'm not sure whether I should spend the afternoon playing GTA, or just do the sensible thing and go back to bed.

Hello. I have received a package from The French. It is a Blu-Ray of 'Pour La Peau D'un Flic' (remastered 2013). It's the French version, so all the wordy bits are in froggo, but it is subtitled. I am a happy man. lazybones. Get on it.

Games Just Fortnite
We did not win at duos. This was my fault. Well mostly I was Des(ignated survivor). As Shenguin checked out. I got into a fight for first and was about to win it. But I panicked and pressed the wrong button (build rather than leap back). In the ensuing confusion I managed to get shot to death.
I blame Shenguin though as if he had been alive my error would not have mattered. His was the more fundamental error.

Hi peeps,
Hope you are all well. Not really been gamesing at all. Tried to pick up where I left off in Cyberpump after some updates but my character immediately got stuck in a crouching position in a tunnel and became immobile and rage quitting was the only way out.
Things going fine domestically, my flat feels absolutely enormous now and rearranging furniture actually provides about 90% of the moving house experience without all the hassle. So thats all good.
EVERYBODY knows the royal family are racist, nazi sympathising, nonce protecting parasites that suckle and thrive on British Gammon Energy, so I have a little trouble believing anyone that would voluntarily join up and then want sympathy for their participation once the cash tap has been turned off. They should all be loaded into the Sun cannon.
I read Hyperion, Endymion and the terror and found the terror to be the least enjoyable. It was ok...
Had noodles for lunch upgraded by adding some frozen peas and sweetcorn whilst cooking in the pot. Was yum.

I read all that; my eyes are bleeding ... I'm not sure if I can unsee all of that... but at least Sheep2 didn't split all those "And you" copy+pastes into separate posts. Princess Anne is a bit racist; she prefers horses to humans and is partial to a Scotsman in a kilt. She probably likes the sporrans. It's International Women's Day - something Google is celebrating with a cartoon of Indian arm wrestling thus neatly including Commonwealth Day. However, in order to show that the arms belong to women, they have bangles thus perpetuating a sexist stereotype.

Ae you feeling better? Well less bad at least?
I did think about putting each 'and you' in a separate post, but I didn't want people to get above themselves and think they were each worth an individual post.
