Morning all!
Much like our Glorious Leader, the south coast is also bathed in sunshine. Bit chilly out at present, mind.
Gamesblog:
TVblog; Superstore. Then started Arrested Development again for yet another rewatch. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve seen it. And TNG! Where Data is confused on a planet, and Troi takes her Command exam.

Morning.
I was busy with work yesterday, or coke fueled bender, you choose.
Very sunny out, really nice day. Glad I am stuck inside in meetings all day.
Games: Bit of PUBG, I should finish off Cyberpunk though as I'm near the end.
Telly: The Ninth Gate, pretty terrible film and the ending was awful.
Good to see Chumbles back - belated happy birthday.

Morning droogs.
Tuesday is the new Monday. Smells like work. AAAARRGGH indeed.
Grey and overcast here, and binmen arrived a 07:33 just so they could see me dashing about to put them out while half dressed. The clattering of 2 weeks worth of bottles must have woken half the street.

hello
Are you ok?
I'm in a meeting. I'm tired ...
I played PUBG last night. I played with two friends. When I was playing with one friend I was very inclined to try and stick together. With two I was heading elsewhere before trying to meet up later.
Hmmm. It's food for thought.
No it isn't. It's very boring.
I am very tired....

The Republic of Korea has narrowed its gender pay gap by 8.9% Just in time for International Women's Day. Since they are consistently at the bottom of the table there's still plenty of room for improvement.

The cat has managed to remove a book from my book-case. It was 'Stuka Pilot' by Hans Ulrich Rudel. What is it's fascination with legendary ace Rudel, credited with over 450 Russian tank kills?
Perhaps it's just because the book's a bit 'musty'. Still, I'll never know - the cat ain't talkin'.

I started reading a book by Milan Kundera. I got hooked on this paragraph. A part of me thought I didn't understand the paragraph, then the mounting anxiety that I was losing my mind made it doubly difficult to concentrate on it. Then I became convinced that his paragraph was wrong - that the original statement was wrong, and the interpretation was wrong ...
Can I run it by you? Is this ok? Is this an ok thing for me to do? ... Jan Mukarovsky, the founder of structural aesthetics, wrote in Prague in 1932: "Only the presumption of objective aesthetic value gives meaning to the historical evolution of art." In other words: in the absence of aesthetic value, the history of art is just an enormous storehouse of works whose chronologic sequence carries no meaning. And conversely: it is only within the context of an art's historical evolution that aesthetic value can be seen. Am I right in thinking that this is a wordy can of worms?
Or am I losing my mind?

Morning rat fans
RDR2 - went to the hanging of Colm O'driscoll, a real bad egg. Climbed onto the roof opposite and killed more of his gang members. Also robbed a stage coach to get hold of some vaccine for my friends up north in the reservation. Ended with some fishing after riding through a breath taking thunderstorm. GOAT.
I also ate left over chicken and chick pea curry and started watching a film called Into the Wild about a young American who gives up all his stuff and money and heads for Alaska. Seemed a bit drastic but I'll watch the second half tonight.
OTTM, pubs are open, in some form, in 34 days.

My driving licence expires next week but covid regulations are against my travelling to the nearest post office to renew it. Maybe Milan so-called Kundera should have a wee think about that conundrum the next time he feels like mouthing off about the insignificance of chronology?

Can't you renew your licence online like normal people? Maybe post a photo to them if you can't attach it.
Or does the court order apply to any photos of you sent by any means.

I woke up at 3 this morning to hear a load of ruckus out in our corridor. Our neighbours seemed to be dragging a load of building scaffolding down to their flat. These clowns. I swear they're making another meth-lab...

I think the key word is "objective", and that's the word that many later literary theorists would take issue with. The idea that historic art (or, indeed, presumably, current art) only has value if we believe it has objective value is questionable. I would agree that it is meaningless without value, certainly, but whether that value is objective or subjective is debatable. Certainly post-modernist, reader-response and other literary theoretical paradigms would foreground subjective response and subjective value.
