Side effects. Slightly dry, salty mouth. Slight taste of Guinness.
Apart from that it was very efficient. In and out in less than 5 minutes. No 15 minute wait afterwards.

Hello,
I got up early this morning and did an 8.5 mile run. My legs hurt.
I definitely didn't embarrass myself by doing a cartoon-style slide in some mud in front of a group of hikers though. So that's something.
No games.

I just played Fortnite. I didn’t win. We didn’t win, but I did get five ‘kills’ in one game, which is a lot for me. Two and a half times more than I’ve got in my best PUBG game.
I know they are both very different ...

Morning.
Late last night the already dodgy flush mechanism of the toilet finally broke. Re-assembling the pieces while the cistern was filling with water did not yield satisfactory results, so I just made sure that everything was stable, i.e. not leaking and/or overflowing and ordered a new flushing mechanism from Jeff, or since he's retired now, Not-Jeff. It's supposed to arrive tomorrow.
I'm not looking forward to dismantling the old system. Basically, I'm worried about getting to the stopcock to switch off the water and about shifting some tight nuts. Pure filth, I'm sure you will agree.
While I was ordering the replacement system from Not-Jeff I noticed the CPU of my asthmatic laptop was getting stressed out again. Further investigation revealed that this was due to some Windows updates that had got stuck. Several restarts later everything calmed down.
I suppose these Windows updates are part of Bill Gates's vaccine rollout, but so far my laptop has failed to synch up with the microchip they implanted when I had my Covid jab. Disappointing.
After all that I finally went to bed in the early hours of the morning. I compensated for the late bedtime by getting up after 4 1/2 hours of sleep.

My gastroscopy = 31st March, in preparation for the Dilatation. Does the Gastroscopy hurt? No. The gastroscopy is easy; the dilatation is the swine. Last time I watched the whole thing while they operated! That made them nervous. They normally insist on giving sedative, which requires someone to watch over you for 24 hrs.
I pointed out that that wasn't possible - my neighbours are nice folk, but they have kids and they work; my local friend has Covid-19 now and wouldn't do it then because of work commitments.
I'm the first person who's had it done without tranking in their memory - going back 20 years. They were in awe, as I stayed quite still while they pushed the metal balloon through, breaking the muscle fibres in my gullet and open - a lot of blood and very uncomfortable. But quite easy - as Holmes might say "Alimentary my dear Watson''!
But it's not painful! Your gullet and digestive tract have no nerves. You just need a lot of self-control. My legs are infinitely more painful ...
They are probably taking my trousers down in game - gotta go!
