So now we can't sell addictive mood-altering drugs loaded with sugar to children? (Except at smaller shops and any shops which chose not to be part of the voluntary ban). Generation snowflake at its worst. You haven't been able to send children to buy ciggies or booze for you for years either. it's disgraceful. How are teenagers supposed to earn glue money?

the photos are at the end, so you can avoid them.
Sister Death is up there as my current favourite cigarette inhaling sister.

It was a quiet weekend of coursework and Star Trek TNG for me. The last episode of season 2 had Riker close to death and recalling all his 'erotic' memories. As 80's things go, it was pretty 80's.
The only other thing of note to happen was that I looked in the window of one of the these computer/phone unlocking shops and saw a tiny phone for sale that was so small it must be marketed at the demographic who smuggle them into places phones aren't allowed in places phones shouldn't be allowed. I now propose a minimum width mobile phones manufacturers must adhere to. If someone is going to use a phone in jail, I want them to have earned it.

Isn't most stuff smuggled in to jails via drone these days? Cheaper than bribing a staff member.

Terrible, terrible episode! It was just a recap episode! TNG didn't really get any good til the third series.

GamesChat!.... Decided to dip my toe back into PUBG after laying off it sometime before Xmas. During the interval I have failed to magically 'Git Gud' and consequently had my sorry ass handed back to me several times over. I do like the Deathcam though... seeing myself panic because i'd picked up a sweet gun, but forgotten to load it, and then going prone by mistake while mashing the wrong keys was hilarious.
Subnautica - anyone else playing it? only just dipped my toe in, so to speak, but the noises of the unseen beasties are creeping the fuck out me. Looking forward to getting into the story, and also playing after a large spliff, although I need to stock up on brown pants if the first couple of hours represent the easy intro into the game. Currently playing Survival mode.

Just looked at dragon soop, a measly 8%? What's the fucking point. Surely people only drink such filth to get battered and not fall asleep? At least buckfast is a reputable 15%.
Let's be honest though neither of them compare to the classic bottle of vodkat and the cheapest own brand energy drink you can find (blue bolt is tescos I believe). Don't even bother with mixing them, perfect ratio: 1 slug vodka to every 2 slugs of cheap energy drink. In whichever order you prefer. But must not swallow prior to all 3 parts in mouth at the same time.
God I'm thirsty.

What were people's underage drink of choice? When I was growing up Smirnoff ice had just pretty much hit the big time. That and the slightly classier lambrini. Any fads before that? Or just proper British ales in a good old fashioned boozahhh

As I rarely travel from West Central Scotland I dunno. Possibly not. Didn't realise it was a local drink for local people. Though as it's a drink with caffeine, booze, sugar and stuff™ why am I surprised?

What were people's underage drink of choice? Started off on bottle of merrydown. Then Merrydown & a breaker. Then moved onto Pernod n black, or El-D n Irn-Bru, or southern comfort n coke. These were all dependant on folk chipping in obviously. Sometimes red stripe or Budweiser.

Sometimes red stripe or Budweiser. Those are some solid choices, I had to Google Merrydown- it looks fucking dreadful. That's a nice variety you're showing there though. I miss the art of chipping in, you always knew where you were with the system. You don't pay, get to fuck. None of this rounds bollocks where there's always at least one guy who has to leave before it's their turn, or comes back with a tap water after requesting a carafe of grey goose when it's not his round. I suppose it's lost when you transfer the hangout from park bench/field to pub, just goes to show change isn't always for the better.

I thought the introduction of the Borg was pretty good, and the looming threat should build nicely now I'm in season 3.

My mate ordered a fake ID online when he was 14 for booze purposes. It was a 'European Identity Card' and had his signature printed on it, which did add an air of authenticity. I still laugh thinking about the woman in the Spar who ID'd him shouting "Moira, do we take these European Identity Cards?" and getting a positive reply.
I think we drank Strongbow, as you could get a 3 litre for £1.99 back in the day. Not any more though. Thanks a lot, Nicola.
Dragon Soup - I've had a few cans before the football. The caffeine provided the buzz that was lacking while the alcohol simultaneously numbed the pain of watching Rangers during the 'banter years'.

My folks used to make home-made wines of varying lethality, so I was raised on that since I was a sprog - although I knew I wasn't allowed in pubs, it never seemed like underage drinking if I were to nick a random bottle from a cupboard as we had so much of the stuff. By secondary school it was usually cider - Merrydown Gold, or Barley wine *shudder*, maybe rum n black if we wanted to impress/intoxicate the girls. 16th birthday - litre of gin, followed by a lifelong aversion to juniper Polytechnic - Farmhouse scrumpy - No label - fiver a gallon from the back of a transit in Plymouth market.

'A shot at the best office building in the world' It sounds utterly awful. Who wants to work in a transparent box? Particularly one where it is easy to walk into the walls. I love that they have had to resort to post it notes so people can tell where the doors are.

Merrydown for me too, or super strongbow. We used to get a homeless bloke to buy it for us in exchange for a tin or two.
On a side note, anyone else ever somehow managed to type 'engorge' instead of 'enforce' in a work email? Just me then.

The doorways reportedly have perfectly thresholds because “if engineers had to adjust their gait when entering the building, they risked distraction from their work”, according to a construction manager talking to Reuters.
I feel the same way about keeping my trousers buttoned up.

back in the day kids used to run into large patio door/window things. They also used to climb into fridges which had been dumped and suffocate. It was tough back then.
