What were people's underage drink of choice? When I was growing up Smirnoff ice had just pretty much hit the big time. That and the slightly classier lambrini. Any fads before that? Or just proper British ales in a good old fashioned boozahhh MD 20-20 and White Lightning. We're a classy bunch in the North East. |

I'd forgotten all about Smirnoff Ice Lemon, gave it a quick google and the mere sight of a bottle reminds me of awful nights out in my teens. Bleurgh. |

First day back after 4 days of cancelled trains. Some clown* has driven a van into a bridge and trains are off. Ffs.
*don't think he/she is an actual clown. I was being derogatory. Their big shoes didn't slip on the pedals or anything.

Surely the choice of alcohol for underage drinking is whatever you and your mates can steal from the parents drinks cabinet without them noticing. I remember a bottle of Taboo being passed around and also Malibu. We grew up in the middle of nowhere so it was nigh on impossible for purchase booze when underage.

I started regularly drinking in pubs from about 15. I mostly drank bitter or ale. Mostly cheap red Bulgarian anti-freeze for non-pub situations. I don't think I drank very much before I was 14 or 15, except what my Dad gave me.
Photography blog: I just found out that Fuji stopped making Fujicolour Superia 200 ASA film a few months ago. It wouldn't be altogether lacking disingenuousness to say that I am not unhappy. I only have a couple of rolls left.

I mean, topping the booze you've nicked with water so you weren't discovered? You may as well have had a bottle in the cistern.
My choice back in the day was Fosters. Because I didn't know any better.

The choice of booze, round my way, was whatever the shopkeeper would sell you. Which for me was pretty much anything from the age of 14, as was 6ft+ and had a full beard. |
