It's one of those things where it starts off funny, then from the third or fourth time it's diminishing returns until everyone starts to fucking hate it; but eventually after about a hundred times it gets funny again. So crack on imo.

Morning all,
Spent most of the weekend on the latest podcast episode. Had a guest on to talk about the gardens in Pompeii. It went really well, lots of interesting stuff in terns of what they grew, how the gardens looked and how they used them.
Played some more Division 2. It's ok, really I'm waiting for Rome remastered on Thursday.

Morning.
Kid 2 has a fever so we're waiting to hear back from the covid test. We rang 111 at around 6 p.m. and they said they would call back in an hour or so. We finally got Kid 2 to asleep around 10 p.m. and hey presto 111 ring back and insist on waking her for a temperature check. We were then up until 3 a.m. with an angry baby.
Not a great start to the week. Thumping migraine and both kids in the house.

Jamie Oliver sometimes looks like he's apeing the mannerisms of Suggs. Maybe when he's taken a forkful of the food he's just cooked and he's pointing to different parts of his face as if identifying the different flavours.
It sometimes seems a bit Suggs-like.

I don't mind Jamie Oliver. I blame the TV producers for the monster that was created - The record scratching with rolling pins; the sprinkling of herbs as the camera rotates like in 'Lock stock and Two Smoking Barrels'.
He's a modern monster. The monster we deserve.

I don't think I've ever actually followed a Jamie Oliver recipe - they always seem to have a lot of spring onion and / or low-fat yoghurt. And there are all the big trays and bowls.
But ... in each episode of his TV shows there's a wheeze, a trick - A Roger the Dodger type 'dodge' - eg. making a steam packet of out of tinfoil or using the starchy pasta water to de-claggify the pasta.
For that reason he's ok with me.

Jamie Oliver cooks as if everyone shares everything. I think it's much healthier to put all your food in one bowl, then scurry away to a corner, to eat it facing away from the rest of the room.

I used a few Jamie Oliver recipes as a student and young professional, but I am not a fan of his stuff now. He gets away with pretty simple stuff because he champions "fresh" ingredients.
The whole harassing of Rotherham's mums at the school gates was a bit shit too.
