What the hell is a “restroom”? It's where Babyfark takes his post-cheese sandwich lunchtime nap. He goes all the way to the US for that?

I've had a plasterer in my house today, plastering a wall. At the end I asked him how many days I need to let it dry before putting up lining paper, he simply said: 'Sorry pal, I've nae idea.'
If the plasterers don't know this stuff, then who does? We are so fucked.

Morning! Ganesblog: Yesterday three of my Animal Crossing neighbours (Zell, Octavian, and Cyrano) formed an impromptu Welsh male voice choir and sang " Land of my Fathers" or something like that. Hilarious. Xenoblade Chronicles, last night I did the first part of the Giants' Treasure quest, also known as The Arachnophobe's Worst Nightmare. I had been poking around Daksha Shrine when I was uncovering the Bionis' Leg map and come across its main gimmick, Clifftop Bayern (München, presumably). I tried to fight it at the time but was too underlevelled and eventually legged it. This time I squashed it, got the item it was guarding and ended up at the front door of the Exile Fortress instead of the back. I couldn't be bovvered with sneaking and tried to lure Reckless Godwin's posse of Ignas out one by one. Naturally they all came out to fight me at once, leaving good ol' Godwin completely unprotected. Got rid of the guards, fought Godwin (who turned out to be a right b*****d), made it to the roof and used the item. Oh, look, a giant spider appears, how original... oh, wait, there's more than one... I threw all my slippers at them and succeeded. Lotsa legs, I tell you. Apparently one can also run away, but where's the fun in that? OTTM: Last Tuesday the milkman didn't deliver the usual pint, so I re-read the leaflet he had left last week and realised that although I already had an online account with them I needed to set up a new payment. In fact I had also read about this but had thought that it might not apply to me: www.theguardian.com/money/2021/apr/03/milk-more-delivery-firm-under-fire-over-plans-to-go-online-onlyThe leaflet also had a £10 off voucher attached, so I read the (very) small print and made an effort to fulfil the necessary conditions by ordering more items to be delivered this morning. But no matter what, when I tried to apply the voucher at the checkout I was told that the offer was no longer valid when according to the T&C it manifestly was within its date. I didn't let this deter me as I needed bread and cereal and wanted to try out some of the flavoured milk they had on offer. It was also too late in the day to reach anyone by phone to complain and I didn't want to make a fuss. Got my delivery this morning and a packet of Welsh cakes was missing from the order. On top of that my order of a pint of white chocolate & raspberry flavoured milk had been substituted with plain old chocolate milk. Disappointing. I was trying my very best not to complain about the service, but I can't ignore a missing item that I've already paid for. Apparently Milk & More are notoriously incommunicado: www.theguardian.com/money/2021/apr/19/milk-more-let-me-down-with-its-online-serviceI bet his £10 off voucher didn't work, either.

Shenguin knows! We are so fucked. If it's re-plastering over old plaster, or new plastering over plasterboard, then it should dry in 2 - 3 days if the room is dry and not cold. However, it would be advisable to leave it at least a couple of days longer than that to be on the safe side, plus a couple of extra months to account for Scottish weather. It's slightly less crucial if you're papering rather than painting directly on to it, but you should still wait at least until the surface appears to be a uniform dry colour plus a day or two.

hi
I have a new way. It's a new way at work: I'm using my workplace VPN rather than the remote desktop. I'm not entirely sure I'm happy with it - All the workstuff all up in my business - Outlook sitting on my computer with all my work emails. Not for me.
Lunch: I went to Gregg's. I had a cheese and onion bake, and a vegan steak bake. 3/10
Games: PUBG. Ah it was fine ... I ran around on my own for a while, burst out of a garage in a family hatchback car, ran over two people, then got gunned down. A good 24 minutes.

Plaster drying time
Depends 2-3 days minimum. The advice is to wait a week before papering or painting fresh plaster. Otherwise you risk trapping moisture.

Did you know? ...
Brett Anderson is a master builder.
If the chips were down he could design you a house. And the load bearing / dimensions would all work out.

2nd match of PUBG. I land at the end of the flight path on Miramar and across the plains in the distance someone lands in the next building over. I pepper him with a couple of M16 shots and he gets into a car and pisses off. I run for ages until I am struggling to make the end circles and someone guns me down with a light machine gun, although I was nearly dead from the storm anyway.

I'm not sure what the relationship between Anderson and the contracted plasterers would be like. Very difficult to say.

Brett would look rubbish on a building site. And a skateboard too, when I really think about it.

Afternoon all Went for haircut today & they’ve moved my appointment to tomorrow which wasn’t happy about. Called my work phone to let me know which was switched off. My Riggs style hair lasts another day. Played a fair bit of cyberpunk. My fav mission so far is one where a guy agrees to have himself crucified in a brain dance. Unexpected. Also some hades which is excellent.

What about sealing it? I’ve never wallpapered a freshly-plastered wall. But if you want to paint one, then a mist coat of paint is advisable.
What I’m saying is you’d probably need to get something on the wall prior to applying the wallpaper paste. Watered-down PVA for instance.
