There's an urban fox chillaxing in my garden as if it owns the place (earlier on it was marking its territory and I'm not interested in getting into a literal pissing contest in order to reclaim it). I'm okay with that because I'm assuming that it keeps the neighbour's cat from cr*pping everywhere and murdering birds. Gamesblog: More than one breakthrough in Xenoblade Chronicles! I sensed that I was very close to max affinity between Melly and Sharla, so I started pumping gifts into both of them. Soon I got the pink heart emoji that indicates maxed out affinity between characters and was finally able to finish the side quest for one of the irritating little sh*ts in Colony 9. I was also finally able to retrieve a quest item from underneath level 40 Gentle Rodriguez's bum. After all that I'm now enjoying a 5-star relationship with Colony 9. 4 stars. Today I learnt that there will be a 35th anniversary Dragon Quest live broadcast, which made me very happy. It will be at noon Tokyo time May 27th which is May 26th 4 a.m. in real time which makes me markedly less happy. There's talk about a "new line-up" which hopefully isn't all mobile games. It's unlikely to be Builders 3 because apparently that development team has been working on a different project. But whatever, more Dragon Quest can only be a good thing. OTTM: my brother in Germany finally has got an appointment for his first vaccination. The Astra Zeneca jab is so massively unpopular there that anyone who's willing to take it (like my brother) can have it right away. Some people are concerned about the reports of blood clots associated with the jab, but most have a different reason for rejecting AZ: they don't like the time frame of 12 weeks between the first and the second shot because... ... they don't want it to interfere with their summer hols. So, although there's a shortage of these vaccines they are taking a gamble on either Pfizer or Moderna becoming available to them, with only 4 weeks between 1st and 2nd doses. This has led one health official to comment that he was under the impression that they are fighting a deadly pandemic, not planning people's summer holidays. Well, apparently he was wrong. I do indeed still have the Beemer, although I almost bought a 911 just after Christmas, but then decided better of it. Good job really as there were loads of redundancies in March, prompting my imminent departure. I've also learned my 125's engine has been down-tuned via the ECU (by BMW during manufacture) from 300 bhp to the paltry 218-ish that it has and I can get it remapped back up to 300 for not much. So I might. And upgrade the brakes and get it wrapped.

Postman delivered a to the occupier letter this morning. An old lady's writing, signed Jennifer. Full of biblical quotes. Feeling as though I'm in a creepy Midsomer Murders episode and next on some ones list to do away with. Ends in JW.org, the plague must have hit them hard, no longer able to knock on doors their sending letters. That's two of us now targeted by the sinister JW Organisation. I wonder if they used the same quotations. Hmmmm... |

I'm about 7 hours in to HZD and to be honest it's not really doing much for me. There's nothing particularly bad about it, I just can't be bothered with it.

HZD is terrible. Here’s an over complicated bow/slinger weapon to set elaborate traps that you can try and fail to use while a giant robot dinosaur charges directly at you over and over again. Enjoy the fall back option of whacking it with a stick for ten minutes

HZD does start slow but I liked the story. Also gets a lot easier once you get the ability to hack the robos and get them to attack each other, much as Rod Hull used to get Emu to attack Wogan and the like.
