GamesPlayer Unknown's Battlegrounds: I set up a custom game, for four people. I enjoyed it but sensed vague antipathy from one of the other players. I think he thought the four of us running round an empty island was somehow 'boring'. We played some other games and did sort of ok but didn't win anything. I told one member of the group that Demon's Souls was one of the best games I have ever played and another member - someone I have known for a very long time - seemed to think I was boasting when I said the difficulty element of it was overplayed. I've been trying to get my head round it. I can't think of the game as being 'difficult' because it's always clear what you have to do. And it is so good ... it draws you on. It makes you do what you have to do.
I feel misrepresented. I should probably mull on it for two weeks then send an angry message of clarification to the group chat.

Done buggered things up again.... Sailed off scouting for a suitable location to build a base near some swamplands, so as to have a hub for mounting raids into the gloomy marshes. Found a nice tiny forested island, and made camp, but decided it wasn't really suitable and went off looking for a better option. Some while further on, and I've found a more promising site, and am clearing out the local nasties, when I am suddenly mullered out of nowhere by a 2 star draughr! Bastard!
The upshot of this, is that I respawn at the last place I slept.... Yep. so I'm now naked and unarmed on a tiny wooded island, with no way to leave unless I can craft a raft. Only problem being, I need 6 leather scraps for a raft, which only come from killing 6 boar. On my island there are exactly zero piggies, and as they only spawn in meadows, I am out of luck hoping one will appear. I am properly stuffed.
Only 2 options....
Restart the game from scratch on a new world.
Cheat.
A quick "spawn LeatherScraps 6" into the console, and the new raft is a thing of beauty ugly. I am off again, sailing naked in search of my corpse and hard-earned gear. Though tempting to ask the console to spawn a complete set of top range padded armour and a blackmetal sword, I resisted. Don't want to tempt the wrath of Odin any more than I already have. The saga continues....

I think I’ve been pretty amenable about going back in to the office, but now I’ve found out the desks are being moved and I’m at risk of losing my plum seat by the window. I’m pretty upset. I’m wondering if I should say I have a chronic anxiety condition. If I mention suicide in an email I guess they have to act?
