I bit my left thumbnail down to the edge, then inadvertenty pulled off a strip of skin separating the side of the nail from the thumb. I think it's now infected. It's a bit like the way Jeff Brundle's finger gets in The Fly. But it's a thumb. A Brundlethumb...

No, I did look at them, but there were various things about it I didn't like the sound of. I have a Boox NovaPro, which runs android but looks like a kindle e-reader. I've had it about 18 months, and found it to be very reliable. It is good for doing crosswords downloaded from the Guardian in pdf, good as an e-reader, good for taking hand-written notes, good for signing contracts in pdf, and good for reading and making hand-written notes on long legalistic work documents. It runs Android, but I can't imagine it would be much good as a general-purpose tablet. You can download stuff from Google Store, but I think the cloud-synching software is limited to the native software, which is Chinese, and which I have never trusted with my data. Apart from downloads from the internet, I tend to up and download stuff to my laptop via a USB, which is a bit 2010s, but works for me. |
