The great thing about England's Gold Coast is the close proximity of all the jewels in the Queen's commonwealth crown.
A day/part day out each at:
Whitby Scarborough Filey Bridlington Flambrough Head Bempton (sea birds) And repeat
Fish n Chips every day Put £3k worth of 2ps in the machines Get shit on by sea gulls Wearing Speedos on the beach
The dream.

Hello. Work is very busy. Offensively so. No games, no TV. You're probably used to being cc'd in...

Sheep is being Mr Nitpicky today, wonder why? It's a calling, not an occasional venture. As it happens I am also generally furious about the football*, and didn't sleep much last night (went to bed too late). I haven't had a beer for a few days. That rarely improves my mood I don't think I am caffeine deficient any longer. Apart from that I am all sunshine and light. * chuntering rabidly.

On the south cost that might not be disastrous.

In Glasgow October can be a whole year. In Aberdeen it is always a rainy Sunday in November.

DeliverationsI've used Tesco, Morrison and Ocado and my experience bears Which's findings out, + Tesco is less expensive than either... Morrison's often has a carton of X the same price as Tesco, but it is almost invariably smaller!

October is a month. Not a week. Yes, yes it is. Also...

Is it the week between the end of the midge season and the daily 24 hours of darkness beginning?

Morrison's often has a carton of X the same price as Tesco, but it is almost invariably smaller! We use Sainsbury's, they always arrive in their allotted 1 hour window, but often give us milk or meat going out of date the next day. A few times out of date crumpets have been delivered. The meat is especially annoying as we get deliveries on a Thursday and need something for the Sunday roast, but then the meat is often out of date on either the Friday or Saturday.

Asda often send stuff with a short date. You can send it back which is a pain. You can also ask for a refund up to 3 days after a delivery. If you don't take the piss every week you can freeze stuff and then get the money back. I realise for chumbles and others that's not really a solution.

Hellofatthumbedidiots,
BOTW: got the master sword. Faceless jnr said it was the best moment of his life. Fucking loser.
Tv: the latest Handmaid's Tale. It was ok. I'm sort of bored with it now though.

Supermarket chat: we get stuff delivered from Tescos. It's pretty much always on time and in date. My folks get waitrose delivered, and are always complaining about it. They won't change though, as they would never be able to live it down with the neighbours if a Tesco van rocked up outside their house.

We get all our meat from the local butchers, and usually our fruit and veg from the nearby farm shop. Better produce overall. When we do get any of this from the Co-op, I find that they’re better quality and with longer longevity than any of the supermarkets we get stuff frame.

amipal grocery shaming us all.
Can anyone go one better - perhaps only sourcing goods from the local farmers' market or a local zero waste shop run purely on middle class guilt?

Tuffers - the Dark Tower books are definitely worth a read in my opinion. Books 1-4 in particular are good, then they drop off a bit. Although there are heavy fantasy elements, there is also a mix of sci fi, horror, western.

Come Autumn he'll be going further afield for artisanal organic chestnuts in his electric car.
I was going to say 'come the fall' just to annoy him - but I couldn't bring myself to do it.

Apparently “Fall” is a Sussex word for autumn… so although it still annoys me when British people use it, it doesn’t wind me up quite as much as it used to.

When I shared a house with a keen gardener who managed to wangle an allotment, the stuff was the best I ever worked with. By the time I got a garden, my then PM was a pretty flowers advocate... But cooking / eating stuff freshly picked is the nuts (except nuts of course)... provided you can stop the local cats pissing all over it...

Farm shop you say? Can I interest you in these magic beans, only £50 each?
For my groceries, I drive to John o groats every day on my sweet diesel powered hog, leave the bike running outside the local primary school whilst I cut down some nearby hedgerows, then ride home with a plastic bag full of chlorinated veal.

Deliverations, apart from my recent experience with Jeff Fresh I've only ever used Ocado and I've never had an issue with use by dates. On the contrary, most often the dates are much better than expected. Is it something to do with which distribution centre handles your orders?
Sometimes stuff has been damaged or has been leaking, but it's very easy to ask for money back and repayment has always been instant.
Hello.
Can't talk because I'm busy destroying evidence, mainly getting rid of my wine and beer bottles. The family should be back later today.
BotW gaming stream last night went on until 4 a.m., so I probably haven't had enough sleep. But it was too much fun. The streamer started chasing memories for the first time and ended up in the castle, just driven by the urge to explore.
I also finished the 3rd episode of the first Great Ace Attorney Chronicles game. Soooo good.
