I had a Skype call recently where some hip young maverick was using their iPad to draw diagrams. This meant there was an awful loud banging/scraping noise every time they were drawing something. It was fantastic.
They also tried to open a document and somehow opened up a recent files window, one of which showed up in the icon preview as a picture of a naked lady. They closed it very quickly and no one said anything.
Perhaps a metaphor for….
Good morning!
I’m staycationing in a very well appointed hovel with a fancy kettle and full internet access. Netflix, curry, ice cream and chocolate. Oh and some hench nik naks.
Looking up to Baldo on the Switch tomorrow, please don’t be pants!

In the old days the only way to enjoy that kind of awkward silence was to draw a picture of a naked lady on your Etch a Sketch, take a photo of it, wait 5 days for the picture to get developed at Boots, send it to your work colleague in the mail, and be there ready to grab it off them just after they opened the envelope. Simpler times.

I wish I hadn't read the comments on the Psychonauts 2 review on the Guardian. Seeing Scubar happy is deeply disturbing and annoying.

Morning all.
Zoomchat - Camera use has dwindled over lockdown, so it's just a few seniors and random extroverts who still use them. Mine is permanently mounted above the dog bed, as I found early doors a snoozing hound is far more watchable than me. It also helped cover up any stray farts or snoring noises I may have let slip.
Speaking of dawgs... it is new puppy day today! Now we have a couple of months of pee puddles and the old game of 'Find The Turd' to put up with.
Speaking of games.... still pootling round in Flight Sim. Halfway through the Alaska bushtrip, and a random crash seems to have borked the navigation, so I am having to do proper navigation instead of looking at a line on a map. It also seems to have corrupted the fuel calculation as I seem to run out every time the gauge drops to 45% full. Alaska seems a lot prettier that I expected, but there are bugger all roads or towns to navigate by.

Lunch - Binghams beef and tomato paste on toast. Smoky bacon walkers. Proper British grub.
OTTM - in approximately 22 hrs time the whole house will be mine. ALL MINE! My precious...
Teams/zoom camera - I never put mine on. It should be down to the individual. People who insist others to do so are massive cunts. Worse than Hitler. Or Piers Morgan.

WD Blue SN550 1TB High-Performance M.2 PCIe NVME SSD I dunno, but it seems to me £70 is a good price, it's in the Amazon sale I'd really like a 4TB one that is definitely compatible with PS5. Also for Sony to open up the spare memory slot on PS5 so it would actually work. Well more. A lot more. But 4TB is the biggest size Sony will support. It's a bit annoying as the PS4 supports up to 16TB. 8TB internal, 8 TB external. At the moment I've had to transfer 4 games to the external slot (meaning I can't play them unless I retransfer them) and I can't download any monthly games on PS5. I have to keep 120-150GB of the 667 free as the console demands double space to download and install a game. I know it's not a major issue, but it is basically ridiculous to launch a premium console with '1TB' of memory - 907 GB in reality then have 1/3 of it taken up by the system and the need to keep free space so you can download updates. The biggest games are approaching 130GB on their own.

Lunch
Eggmergency I thought I had bought more eggs on Monday. I certainly intended to. But it is quite possible I failed. The evidence is not there. Much like the eggs. I was only able to have one boiled egg. Un Ouef is not enough.
I had to have a cheese sarnie as well.

It's not memory it's disk space. Random Access MEMORY is memory. Your welcome.
But yeah - you're right, thought fast nvme is/was expensive at launch.

It's not memory it's disk space. Random Access MEMORY is memory. Your welcome. But yeah - you're right, thought fast nvme is/was expensive at launch. This fallacy arises from an impropitious level of knowledge of an epistemological sphere and its recherché nomenclature, without having the semiotic cognisance to realise that if the computer stores data in a recallable manner, that is, by any reasonable semantic standard, "memory", you cockwomble.

It's not memory it's disk space. Random Access MEMORY is memory. Your welcome. But yeah - you're right, thought fast nvme is/was expensive at launch. RAM is the short term or 'now' memory that temporarily holds any input/output in situ for the units operand to utilise where it is required. HDD/SDD is the long term 'time' based memory storage that keeps any inpu/output data safe, this also includes the RAM memory and all its functions. Disk space has nothing to do with the operand other than the run speed which is affected by the total storage capacity making the system work harder - typically power consumption. You can increase disk space by increasing the bit/byte virtual construct within storage unit, but they don't because of sales and productivity costs, which is also why it takes so long for them to come up with new and bigger storage. That and you touch your nvme at night.

This is like how my dad says “downloading files to my computer” when he actually means “copying files”. You can download a file from somewhere else to your computer. That typically works by copying a file from t'internet onto your computer; you can copy files within your computer from one storage location to another ... typically this latter copies fuck all if the logical location is on the same physical device - the OS just changes the pointers not where the data is written. But really Chumbles, you pedantic old twiddlepoop, who gives a flying fuck about this smart-arsery. You should scribble it on a Venn diagram and eat it you posturing, decrepit old buffoon - no-one's read this far...
