I'm unwell, and therefore only a quarter of my brain is working. I'm watching Johnny Mnemonic. Never seen it before. Made in 1995, set in 2021. It overestimates technological progress and ubiquity of bio-mech implants and Lazer whips. And underestimates cryptography, mobile phone development, and the size and flatness of hotel TV screens. Johnny has 120GB in his head, 240GB if he uses a doubler. Still, no Boris, no Trump, no Brexit. And Johnny has the cure for the global disease in his head. Sounds good to me. Keanougat Reeves |
