I'm using my time in isolation well - 8 episodes of the sopranos down, 70 odd to go. Should last me till about Wednesday.

Morning all.
TVblog: my partner was watching a programme on Netflix where a creative-type lady bakes, stitches, and creates, all while talking to muppet-type creatures in an Addam’s Family-style house. Odd.
I then watched the first episode of Y: The Last Man (which points out that our protagonist is a cis-gender male for reasons unknown to me). It was alright. Good to see Olivia Thirlby in something other than Dredd.
Panicbuyblog: my long-planned next HeroQuest session has been cancelled for tonight due to concerns with fuel-availability, COME ON.

Even though we don't own a car and I can't drive I feel the need to buy petrol.

Rather enjoyed Free Guy last night. Then I listened to tunes.

We are heading to Dorset on Monday for a short break. We have half a tank of petrol. Very exciting.
Rain is forecast.

I have a 1/4 tank of petrol which may get me a petrol station, which will be closed, so I'll be staying at home for a bit. I think I'll have to whip the battery out and charge it up as it's probably dead by now.

It’s 106 miles to Chicago, we’ve got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it’s dark and we’re wearing sunglasses.

Given the filthy weather next week it's not going to be too much of a hardship

Relying on this shambles of a government to actually DO something sensible about ANYTHING... ALL of them are sitting on their hands, hoping that things will sort themselves out. Policy is nonexistent and when ministers whiffle and waffle about throwing money at this, it's temporary, we're learning lessons - they are all hiding... The only concrete policies they enunciate clearly are those which make the lives of poorer people worse, like the cancellation of the £20 Universal Credit uplift. And the bill for the biggest insanity of multiple governments, HS2 is now breaking new bounds as the estimate now exceeds £100 million... What a bunch of cunts, all Hail BJs the Cuntmeister.

I have about 50 miles left in the tank. Fortunately since working from home, that is about how much I drive in an average month. The Pref mam filled up earlier. She had to queue for about an hour. The bigger issue at the moment is that the traffic is blocking the end of our road, so we can't actually get anywhere by car.
Y the Last Man: I also watched the first episode last night. I didn't pick up on any wokeness though to be fair. I thought it was ok. Will stick with it for now.

Ottm: I am off to the cinema tonight for The Many Saints of Newark. I don't remember the last time I was this pumped for a film. Probably...er, the Phantom Menace.

I’m going to a fortieth birthday garden party tomorrow. I’m driving, so no drinking… probably for the best, as it will be a Sunday.
My partner has had bad sleep for over a week, and has decided to stay home. It was my assumption* therefore that it would just be me in the car - turns out the she had other thoughts, and that I would also be taking our son with me. To a party where he’ll know no one but me.
Yeah.
Should be “fun” driving for over an hour there, then lugging a huge present from wherever I get parked, while also trying to steer a five year old in the right direction…
*yes, I know…
